Unfortunately the PCI id is the same in hw1.0 and hw2.0 so ath10k tries to use hw1.0 boards anyway. But without hw1.0 workarounds in place ath10k just crashes horribly. To avoid using hw1.0 boards at all add a chip id detection and fail the probe if hw1.0 is detected: [ 5265.786408] ath10k: ERROR: qca988x hw1.0 is not supported [ 5265.786497] ath10k: Unsupported chip id 0x043200ff [ 5265.786574] ath10k: could not register driver core (-95) [ 5265.793191] ath10k_pci: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -95 Also add a warning if there's an unknown chip id but continue the boot process normally anyway. In store_enabled() we have the following sequence: acquire nt->mutex then rtnl, but in the netconsole netdev notifier we have rtnl then nt->mutex effectively leading to a deadlock. The NULL pointer dereference that the above commit tries to fix is actually due to another bug in netpoll_cleanup(). For example, if IPsec (tunnel mode) has to encrypt large skbs that have local_df bit set, then all IP fragments that belonged to different ESP datagrams would have used the same identificator. If one of these IP fragments would get lost or reordered, then peer could possibly stitch together wrong IP fragments that did not belong to the same datagram. Thus when udev is not in use the backend gets stuck in InitWait. With this patch, the netdev is left alone whilst the backend is still online and is only de-registered and freed just prior to destroying the vif (which is also nicely symmetrical with the netdev allocation and registration being done during probe) so no re-invocation of hotplug scripts is required. There is another place in cnic that is still using the old method to determine if FCoE is supported or not. The 2 methods may not yield the same result after the network interface is brought down and up. This will cause the crash as cnic_bnx2x_service_kcq() will access the uninitialized cp->kcq2. The fix is to consistently use the same macro CNIC_SUPPORTS_FCOE() which uses the bnx2x NO_FCOE() macro. As a follow-up, we can clean up the code to remove the old method as it is no longer needed. We fix this by making compatible changes to the doorbell address in bnx2i and bnx2fc. For the userspace driver, we need to pass a modified CID so that the existing userspace driver will calculate the correct doorbell address and continue to work. This results in an invalid fdb entry if default destination is not specified. For ex: ip link add vxlan1 type vxlan id 100 creates the following fdb entry 00:00:00:00:00:00 dev vxlan1 dst 0.0.0.0 self permanent This patch fixes this issue by creating an fdb entry only if a valid default destination is specified.
