* Merge branch 'for-linus' into for-nextTakashi Iwai2015-03-09
|\ | | | | | | | | Merging the HD-audio fixes back to base devel branch for further working on it.
| * ALSA: opl3: small array underflowDan Carpenter2015-03-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There is a missing lower bound check on "pitchbend" so it means we can read up to 6 elements before the start of the opl3_note_table[] array. Thanks to Clemens Ladisch for his help with this patch. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
* | ALSA: seq: Define driver object in each driverTakashi Iwai2015-02-12
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch moves the driver object initialization and allocation to each driver's module init/exit code like other normal drivers. The snd_seq_driver struct is now published in seq_device.h, and each driver is responsible to define it with proper driver attributes (name, probe and remove) with snd_seq_driver specific attributes as id and argsize fields. The helper functions snd_seq_driver_register(), snd_seq_driver_unregister() and module_snd_seq_driver() are used for simplifying codes. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

* ALSA: Deletion of checks before the function call "iounmap"Markus Elfring2015-01-04
| | | | | | | | | | The iounmap() function performs also input parameter validation. Thus the test around the call is not needed. This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software. Signed-off-by: Markus Elfring <elfring@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
* ALSA: ml403-ac97cr: Remove always NULL parameterLars-Peter Clausen2015-01-02
| | | | | | | | | | snd_ml403_ac97cr_pcm() takes a pointer to a pointer of a PCM where if this parameter is provided the newly allocated PCM is stored. All callers pass NULL though, so remove the parameter. This makes the code a bit cleaner and shorter. Signed-off-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While rewriting the code in the previous commit [316638a5030a: ALSA: virmidi: fixed code style issues], the error check was wrongly converted. This resulted an Oops. Fixes: 316638a5030a ('ALSA: virmidi: fixed code style issues') Reported-by: Fengguang Wu <fengguang.wu@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

* ALSA: vx: Use nonatomic PCM opsTakashi Iwai2014-09-15
| | | | | | | | | Rewrite VXpocket and VX222 drivers to use the new PCM nonatomic ops. The former irq tasklet is replaced with a threaded irq handler, and the tasklet for the PCM delayed start is simply merged into the normal PCM trigger, as well as the replacement of spinlock with mutex. * ALSA: Drop unused name argument in snd_register_oss_device()Takashi Iwai2014-02-12
| | | | | | | The last argument, name, of snd_oss_register_device() is nowhere referred in the function in the current code. Let's drop it. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
* ALSA: Replace with IS_ENABLED()Takashi Iwai2014-02-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | Replace the lengthy #if defined(XXX) || defined(XXX_MODULE) with the new IS_ENABLED() macro. The patch still doesn't cover all ifdefs. For example, the dependency on CONFIG_GAMEPORT is still open-coded because this also has an extra dependency on MODULE. Similarly, an open-coded ifdef in pcm_oss.c and some sequencer-related stuff are left untouched. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

* ALSA: pcsp: Fix initialization with nopcm=1Takashi Iwai2013-10-29

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | snd-aloop driver has no proper PM implementation, thus the PM resume may trigger Oops due to leftover timer instance. * | ALSA: Make snd_printd() and snd_printdd() inlineTakashi Iwai2013-01-25
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Because currently snd_printd() and snd_printdd() macros are expanded to empty when CONFIG_SND_DEBUG=n, a compile warning like below appears sometimes, and we had to covert it by ugly ifdefs: sound/pci/hda/patch_sigmatel.c: In function ‘stac92hd71bxx_fixup_hp’: sound/pci/hda/patch_sigmatel.c:2434:24: warning: unused variable ‘spec’ [-Wunused-variable] For "fixing" these issues better, this patch replaces snd_printd() and snd_printdd() definitions with empty inline functions instead of macros. This should have the same effect but shut up warnings like above. But since we had already put ifdefs, changing to inline functions would trigger compile errors. So, such ifdefs is removed in this patch. In addition, snd_pci_quirk name field is defined only when CONFIG_SND_DEBUG_VERBOSE is set, and the reference to it in snd_printdd() argument triggers the build errors, too. For avoiding these errors, introduce a new macro snd_pci_quirk_name() that is defined no matter how the debug option is set. * ALSA: vx: hard dependency on the standard fw loaderTakashi Iwai2012-11-22
| | | | | | | Yet again like previous two commits, drop the old hwdep user-space firmware code from vx driver (snd-vxpocket and snd-vx222). Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
* ALSA: sound/drivers: remove CONFIG_EXPERIMENTALKees Cook2012-10-24

* ALSA: aloop - Close races at restarting the streamTakashi Iwai2012-10-21
| | | | | | | | | | There are small races opened in the check of running bit and the timer lock. Instead of adding yet more flag, just protect the whole racy codes with the existing cable->lock.
