* i386/x86_64: move headers to include/asm-x86Thomas Gleixner2007-10-11
| | | | | | | | Move the headers to include/asm-x86 and fixup the header install make rules Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
* [PATCH] x86-64: Remove fastcall references in x86_64 codeGlauber de Oliveira Costa2007-02-13
| | | | | | | | | | | Unlike x86, x86_64 already passes arguments in registers. The use of regparm attribute makes no difference in produced code, and the use of fastcall just bloats the code. * [PATCH] Don't use lock section for mutexes and semaphoresAndi Kleen2006-09-26
| | | | | | | | Lock sections cannot be handled by the dwarf2 unwinder. Disadvantage is a taken branch in the hot path. Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de>
* [PATCH] x86_64: x86_64 version of the smp alternative patch.Gerd Hoffmann2006-06-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Changes are largely identical to the i386 version: * alternative #define are moved to the new alternative.h file. * one new elf section with pointers to the lock prefixes which can be nop'ed out for non-smp. * two new elf sections simliar to the "classic" alternatives to replace SMP code with simpler UP code. * fixup headers to use alternative.h instead of defining their own LOCK / LOCK_PREFIX macros. The patch reuses the i386 version of the alternatives code to avoid code duplication. The code in alternatives.c was shuffled around a bit to reduce the number of #ifdefs needed. It also got some tweaks needed for x86_64 (vsyscall page handling) and new features (noreplacement option which was x86_64 only up to now). Debug printk's are changed from compile-time to runtime. Loosely based on a early version from Bastian Blank <waldi@debian.org> Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* Fix mutex_trylock() copy-and-paste bug (x86, x86-64, generic mutex-dec.h)Linus Torvalds2006-01-11
| | | | | | | | | Noticed by Arjan originally on x86-64, then Ingo on x86, and finally me grepping for it in the generic version. Bad parenthesis nesting. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] mutex subsystem, add include/asm-x86_64/mutex.hIngo Molnar2006-01-09
add the x86_64 version of mutex.h, optimized in assembly. Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@infradead.org>
