* [WATCHDOG] the scheduled removal of the i8xx_tco watchdog driverAdrian Bunk2007-05-01
| | | | | | | | | This patch contains the scheduled removal of the i8xx_tco watchdog driver. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be>
* [WATCHDOG] show default value for nowayout in module parameterWim Van Sebroeck2007-01-27
| | | | | | | | change default=CONFIG_WATCHDOG_NOWAYOUT in the module parameter for nowayout by it's real value (0 or 1) by using: __MODULE_STRING(WATCHDOG_NOWAYOUT) Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be>
* [WATCHDOG] use ENOTTY instead of ENOIOCTLCMD in ioctl()Samuel Tardieu2006-10-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Return ENOTTY instead of ENOIOCTLCMD in user-visible ioctl() results The watchdog drivers used to return ENOIOCTLCMD for bad ioctl() commands. ENOIOCTLCMD should not be visible by the user, so use ENOTTY instead. * [PATCH] make more file_operation structs staticArjan van de Ven2006-07-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | Mark the static struct file_operations in drivers/char as const. Making them const prevents accidental bugs, and moves them to the .rodata section so that they no longer do any false sharing; in addition with the proper debug option they are then protected against corruption.. * [WATCHDOG] add WDIOC_GETTIMELEFT ioctlWim Van Sebroeck2006-06-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some watchdog drivers have the ability to report the remaining time before the system will reboot. With the WDIOC_GETTIMELEFT ioctl you can now read the time left before the watchdog would reboot your system. The following drivers support this new IOCTL: i8xx_tco.c, pcwd_pci.c and pcwd_usb.c . * [WATCHDOG] i8xx_tco.c - remove support for ICH6 + ICH7Wim Van Sebroeck2006-05-15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Temporary remove support for ICH6 + ICH7. In these newer TCO's the watchdog timer has changed: the TCO_TMR register is not at the TCOBASE+0x1 offset, but changed it's place to TCOBASE+0x12 and became 10 bit long [0:9]. (Kernel BUG 6031). ICH6 + ICH7 support will be added in a new driver. Code is under test. Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] i8xx_tco.c: arm watchdog only when startedWim Van Sebroeck2005-08-09
| | | | | | | | | i8xx_tco.c v0.08: only "arm" the watchdog when the watchdog has been started. (Kernel Bug 4251: system reset when battery is read and i8xx_tco driver loaded) Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] consolidate CONFIG_WATCHDOG_NOWAYOUT handlingAndrey Panin2005-07-27
| | | | | | | | | | Attached patch removes #ifdef CONFIG_WATCHDOG_NOWAYOUT mess duplicated in almost every watchdog driver and replaces it with common define in linux/watchdog.h. * [PATCH] PCI: clean up dynamic pci id logicGreg Kroah-Hartman2005-07-01
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The dynamic pci id logic has been bothering me for a while, and now that I started to look into how to move some of this to the driver core, I thought it was time to clean it all up. It ends up making the code smaller, and easier to follow, and fixes a few bugs at the same time (dynamic ids were not being matched everywhere, and so could be missed on some call paths for new devices, semaphore not needed to be grabbed when adding a new id and calling the driver core, etc.) I also renamed the function pci_match_device() to pci_match_id() as that's what it really does. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
