When that happens the old clock initialisation will be ripped out. In the meantime however, we have to make a decision and call the appropriate initialisation code manually. The node is missing a few properties for configuration like "multipoint", "dyn_fifo", "num_eps" or "ram_bits". However I am not sure "missing" is the right word here because some of those informations might be obtained from the chip itself but it is not done (yet). Further the ePARP 2.3.1 says the matching goes from left to right taking the fist match. Right now there is jus a driver for "stericsson,db8500-musb" and none for "mentor,musb". I'm not 100% that it is simply possible to have a generic since even for DMA we have ifdefs in the driver between "generic mentor dma" and "ux500 dma" and I mean within musb and not the dma code. For that reason (that I am not sure a generic musb binding is possible and how its binding / required properties will look like) and the reason that we have here a minor binding without a driver to look at I suggest to remove that binding. If the majority of people prefer to keep this binding I'm curious how the documentation of the binding should look like. The dbx500.dtsi defines the PRCMU SoC regulators so the SoC will probe and you can use ampersand references where need be. However the HREF common dtsi and these two boards redefine the same PRCMU SoC regulators with the very same names and properties for no reason. This is like filling in the same line three times instead of drawing it once. But on all three the reachable sources per dma channel has constraints attached and thus encodes the usable combinations using the S3C24XX_DMA_CHANREQ macro. This also fixes the warning about s3c2410_dma_resource being unused as reported by Olof Johansson. With the way the Kconfig options are layed out currently it is possible to enable Samsung sound support without enabling the necessary dma support resulting in warnings like warning: (SND_SOC_SAMSUNG && SND_S3C24XX_I2S && SND_S3C2412_SOC_I2S && SND_SOC_SAMSUNG_SMDK2443_WM9710 && SND_SOC_SAMSUNG_LN2440SBC_ALC650) selects S3C2410_DMA which has unmet direct dependencies (ARCH_S3C24XX && S3C24XX_DMA && (CPU_S3C2410 || CPU_S3C2442)) Therefore bring the s3c2410 dma support in line with the way the other s3c24xx SoCs handle this by having the SoC dma-support selected if the generic s3c dma support is enabled and have the sound support depend on S3C24XX_DMA on these arches. The s3c2442 is using the same dma descriptors and therefore also selected S3C2410_DMA. The upcoming dma driver wants to handle these itself and therefore needs to be able to get the correct clock for a channel. Therefore rename the dma clocks to "dma.X" for s3c2412, s3c2416 and s3c2443. This does not change the behaviour for the old dma driver at all, as all dma clocks are still always on and not handled by the old dma driver at all. This makes it easier to use the gpio driver on other platforms as it breaks dependency on mach-davinci. Latencies for gpio_get/set APIs will increase. On measurement, latency was found to have increased by 18 microsecond with gpiolib API as compared to inline APIs. Measurement was done on DA850 EVM for gpio_get_value() API by taking the printk timing across the call with interrupts disabled. inline gpio API with interrupt disabled [ 29.734337] before gpio_get [ 29.736847] after gpio_get Time difference 0.00251 gpio library with interrupt disabled [ 272.876763] before gpio_get [ 272.879291] after gpio_get Time difference 0.002528 Latency increased by (0.002528 - 0.00251) = 18 microsecond. While at it, remove GPIO_TYPE_DAVINCI enum definition as gpio-davinci.c is converted to Linux device driver model. The driver does not have platform driver structure or a probe. Instead, it has pure_initcall function for initialization. The platform specific informaiton is obtained using the DaVinci specific davinci_soc_info structure. This is a problem for Device Tree (DT) implementation. As a first stage of DT conversion, we implement a probe. Additional notes: - The driver registration happens as postcore_initcall. This is required since machine init functions like da850_lcd_hw_init() make use of GPIO. - Start using devres APIs for simpler error handling.
