There is a new driver, which is actually moving a custom PWM driver from drivers/misc. The majority of the patches are enhancements to the device tree support in the pwm-backlight driver. | * pwm-backlight: Add power supply supportThierry Reding2013-10-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Backlights require a power supply to work properly. This commit adds a regulator to power up and power down the backlight. Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
| * pwm-backlight: Use new enable_gpio fieldThierry Reding2013-10-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Make use of the new enable_gpio field and allow it to be set from DT as well. Now that all legacy users of platform data have been converted to initialize this field to an invalid value, it is safe to use the field from the driver. * | backlight: lp855x_bl: support new LP8555 deviceMilo Kim2013-11-12
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | LP8555 is one of the LP855x family devices. This device needs pre_init_device() and post_init_device() driver structure. It's same as LP8557, so the device configuration code is shared with LP8557. Backlight outputs are generated from dual DC-DC boost converters. It's configurable EPROM settings which are defined in the platform data. Driver documentation and device tree bindings are updated. * backlight: lp855x: add a device tree structureKim, Milo2013-04-29
| | | | | | | | | | Enable supporting the DT structure of LP855x family devices. If the platform data is NULL, the driver tries to parse a DT structure. Then, the platform data is copied from the DT. Documentation is added as well. * pwm-backlight: Add rudimentary device tree supportThierry Reding2012-07-23
This commit adds very basic support for device tree probing. Currently, only a PWM and a list of distinct brightness levels can be specified. Enabling or disabling backlight power via GPIOs is not yet supported.
