* nfc: st-nci: Rename st21nfcb to st-nciChristophe Ricard2015-06-10
| | | | | | | | | | STMicroelectronics NFC NCI chips family is extending with the new ST21NFCC using the AMS AS39230 RF booster. The st21nfcb driver is relevant for this solution and might be with future products. Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: disable irq when st21nfcb is disabledChristophe Ricard2015-06-08
| | | | | | | | | When st21nfcb is disabled, the irq line may remain active while no data are available, flooding the system with irrelevant i2c transaction. Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Move powered flag from phy to ndlc layerChristophe Ricard2015-06-08
| | | | | | | The powered flag can be set from the ndlc_open and ndlc_close layer. Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: remove st21nfcb_nci_i2c_disableChristophe Ricard2015-06-08
| | | | | | | | | ndlc_remove already calls st21nfcb_nci_i2c_disable and phy->powered is already set to 0. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Do not remove header once the payload is sentChristophe Ricard2015-06-08
| | | | | | | | | | | Once the data is sent, we need to preserve the full frame for the ndlc state machine. If the NDLC ACK is not received in time, the ndlc layer will resend the same frame. Having the header byte pulled will corrupt the frame. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: logging neateningJoe Perches2015-04-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add missing terminating newlines to nfc_info and nfc_err to avoid possible interleaving from other messages. Miscellanea: o typo fix of "unknonwn" in message o remove unnecessary OOM messages as there's a generic dump_stack() o realign arguments Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Retry i2c_master_send if it returns a negative valueChristophe Ricard2015-04-05
| | | | | | | | | | | i2c_master_send may return many negative values different than -EREMOTEIO. In case an i2c transaction is NACK'ed, on raspberry pi B+ kernel 3.18, -EIO is generated instead. * NFC: st21nfcb: Fix "NULL pointer dereference" possible errorChristophe Ricard2015-01-26
| | | | | | | | | | When the platform with CONFIG_ST21NFCB_I2C=y without any st21nfcb component physically connected a: "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address" may show up at driver initialization phase. * NFC: dts: st21nfcb: Fix compatible string spelling to follow other driversChristophe Ricard2015-01-25
| | | | | | | | | | | Other drivers are following the following compatible string format for dts: s/_/-/ Because some devices may still use the previous string, the new corrected string is added to the of_device_id table. * NFC: st21nfcb: Fix reported errorChristophe Ricard2014-12-02
| | | | | | | | Report error returned by devm_gpio_request_one instead of -ENODEV. Reported-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Remove useless pr_infoChristophe Ricard2014-12-02
| | | | | | | - pr_info in st21nfcb_nci_i2c_disable is not necessary Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Remove gpio_irq field in static and dts configurationChristophe Ricard2014-12-01
| | | | | | | | | | | - phy->gpio_irq is never done out of the request resources. - irq_of_parse_and_map is already done in the i2c core so client->irq is already set when entering in st21nfcb_hci_i2c_of_request_resources - In case of static platform configuration client->irq can be set directly. - It simplifies the code a bit. * NFC: st21nfcb: Add of_st21nfcb_i2c_match to MODULE_DEVICE_TABLEChristophe Ricard2014-12-01
| | | | | | | | When CONFIG_OF is define add of_st21nfcb_i2c_match to MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: remove error outputChristophe Ricard2014-09-23
| | | | | | | | | In case we are not able to read out the NDLC/NCI header, we do not consider this as an issue and we will give a later chance. The NDLC layer will handle errors thanks to its internal timers. Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Fix improper management of -EREMOTEIO error code.Christophe Ricard2014-09-23
| | | | | | | | | | | | On st21nfcb the irq line might be kept to active state because of other interfaces activity. This may generate i2c read tentative resulting in i2c NACK. This fix will currently let NDLC upper layer to decide when it is relevent to signal to the physical layer when the chip as muted. * NFC: st21nfcb: Remove useless headersChristophe Ricard2014-09-07
| | | | | | | | | | Remove some headers as they are: - not relevent for st21nfcb. - called multiple times for no reason: example st21nfcb.h already include ndlc.h. Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
* NFC: st21nfcb: Fix logic when running into i2c read retryChristophe Ricard2014-09-07
| | | | | | | | | | When retrying to read the NCI header, the CLF might not be available the first time. However it may not be successful the second time and this may cause an error in the function. Enforce the retrieve data length is as expected. Signed-off-by: Christophe Ricard <christophe-h.ricard@st.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>

* NFC: st21nfcb: Add driver for STMicroelectronics ST21NFCB NFC chipChristophe Ricard2014-07-22
Add driver for STMicroelectronics ST21NFCB NFC controller. ST21NFCB is using NCI protocol and a proprietary low level transport protocol called NDLC used on top. NDLC: The protocol defines 2 types of frame: - One type carrying NCI data (referred as DATAFRAME frames). - One type carrying protocol information used for flow control and error control mechanisms (referred as SUPERVISOR frames). After each frame transmission to the NFC controller, the device host SHALL waitfor an ACK (SUPERVISOR frame) reception before sending a new frame. The NFC controller MAY send a frame at anytime to the device host. The NFC controller MAY send a specific WAIT supervisor frame to indicate to device host that a NCI data packet has been received but that it could take significant time before the NFC controller sends an ACK and thus allows next data reception.
