* [IA64] make unwinder stop at last frame of the bootloaderDavid Mosberger-Tang2007-08-13
| | | | | | | | | Add a dummy nop at the end of _start() to maintain the invariant that the return-pointer (rp) always point to the calling function. This makes unwinding stop at the last frame, as it should. Signed-off-by: David Mosberger-Tang <dmosberger@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
* [IA64] Add PAL_VM_SUMMARY/PAL_MEM_ATTRIB to bootloader for SKIPeter Chubb2005-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | This patch implements PAL_VM_SUMMARY (and PAL_MEM_ATTRIB for good measure) and pretends that the simulated machine is a McKinley. Some extra comments and clean-up by Tony Luck. Signed-off-by: Peter Chubb <peterc@gelato.unsw.edu.au> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
* [IA64] Fix simulator boot (for real this time).Peter Chubb2005-08-23
| | | | | | | | | | | | Thanks to Stephane, we've now worked out the real cause of the `Linux will not boot on simulator' problem. Turns out it's a stack overflow because the stack pointer wasn't being initialised properly in boot_head.S (it was being initialised to the lowest instead of the highest address of the stack, so the first push started to overwrite data in the BSS). Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
