* drm/radeon: use helper for mst connector dpms.Dave Airlie2016-04-06
| | | | | | | | I noticed my monitor didn't power off when it should, this should fix it. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com>
* drm/radeon/mst: port some MST setup code from DAL.Dave Airlie2016-04-06
| | | | | | | | This ports the DAL timeouts and MST rate calculations for the hw from the DAL codebase. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com>
* drm/radeon/mst: cleanup code indentationDave Airlie2016-03-22
| | | | | | | | This was all sorts of ugly from when I hacked it up, just clean it up now and remove the extra indents. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com>
* drm/radeon/mst: fix regression in lane/link handling.Dave Airlie2016-03-22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The function this used changed in 092c96a8ab9d1bd60ada2ed385cc364ce084180e drm/radeon: fix dp link rate selection (v2) However for MST we should just always train to the max link/rate. Though we probably need to limit this for future hw, in theory radeon won't support it. This fixes my 30" monitor with MST enabled. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Need to properly handle the max link rate in the dpcd. * drm/radeon: attach tile property to mst connectorDave Airlie2015-10-14
| | | | | | | This allows tiled monitors to work with radeon once mst is enabled. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
* drm/dp/mst: split connector registration into two parts (v2)Dave Airlie2015-10-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to cache the EDID properly for tiled displays, we need to retrieve it before we register the connector with userspace, otherwise userspace can call get resources and try and get the edid before we've even cached it. This fixes some problems when hotplugging mst monitors, with X/mutter running. As mutter seems to get 0 modes for one of the monitors in the tile. v2: fix warning in radeon handle tile setting in cached path rather than get edid path. * drm: Make the connector dpms callback return a value, v2.Maarten Lankhorst2015-07-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is required to properly handle failing dpms calls. When making a wait in i915 interruptible, I've noticed that the dpms sequence could fail with -ERESTARTSYS because it was waiting interruptibly for flips. So from now on allow drivers to fail in their connector dpms callback. Encoder and crtc dpms callbacks are unaffected. Changes since v1: - Update kerneldoc for the drm helper functions. * drm: gc now dead mode_group codeDaniel Vetter2015-07-22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Two nice things here: - drm_dev_register will truly register everything in the right order if the driver doesn't have a ->load callback. Before this we had to init the primary mode_group after the device nodes where already registered. - Less things to keep track of when reworking the connector locking, yay! * drm/radeon: Take all modeset locks for DP MST hotplugDaniel Vetter2015-07-22
| | | | | | | | | | Similar with the i915 take all modeset locks for mst hotplug. This is needed to make sure radeon holds both mode_config.mutex and mode_config.connection_mutex when updating the connector_list, which is the new (interim) locking regime we want for that. * drm/radeon: don't probe MST on hw we don't support it onDave Airlie2015-06-18
| | | | | | | | | | If you do radeon.mst=1 on a gpu without mst hw, and then plug some mst hw it will oops instead of falling back. So check we have DCE5 at least before proceeding. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Christian König <christian.koenig@amd.com>

This adds initial DP 1.2 MST support to radeon, on CAYMAN and up in theory.
