* gpu-paging: Allow for more than one buffer to be swapped at a timertss22-aegpu-pagingJoshua Bakita2022-06-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This uses a very primitive linear disk sector allocation scheme. Sectors are only reused when userspace resets assignment to 0 with an NVGPU_AS_IOCTL_SWAP_RESET ioctl (which invalidates all current swap buffers). This sector assignment scheme is sufficient for use in a TimeWall- like system, where all allocations are assumed to be static after after task system release. This is not suitable for a system with dynamic allocations, unless userspace manually resets swap state regularly (benchmarks run a reset at start for example). Support for dynamic allocations is on the backlog. No significant speed impact. Benchmarks, 100 iters, after: gpu_paging_speed, write: 186.0ms +/- 3.51 gpu_paging_speed, read: 162.7ms +/- 2.58 gpu_paging_overhead_speed, write start: 35.4ms +/- 4.47 gpu_paging_overhead_speed, write finish: 3.3ms +/- 0.18 gpu_paging_overhead_speed, read start: 69.8ms +/- 6.42 gpu_paging_overhead_speed, read finish: 43.2ms +/- 0.91

* gpu: nvgpu: add SET_CTX_MMU_DEBUG_MODE ioctlThomas Fleury2020-01-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Added NVGPU_DBG_GPU_IOCTL_SET_CTX_MMU_DEBUG_MODE ioctl to set MMU debug mode for a given context. Added gr.set_mmu_debug_mode HAL to change NV_PGPC_PRI_MMU_DEBUG_CTRL for a given channel. HAL implementation for native case is gm20b_gr_set_mmu_debug_mode. It internally uses regops, which directly writes to the register if the context is resident, or writes to gr context otherwise. Added NVGPU_SUPPORT_SET_CTX_MMU_DEBUG_MODE to enable the feature. NV_PGPC_PRI_MMU_DEBUG_CTRL has to be context switched in FECS ucode, so the feature is only enabled on TU104 for now. There are features that could be implemented in the kernel but were explictly chosen not to be. Example: partial mappings. Security follows as well: the more simple the API the easier it is to ensure there are no easily exploitable corner cases. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Replace the padding in nvgpu_channel_wdt_args with a timeout value in milliseconds, and add NVGPU_IOCTL_CHANNEL_WDT_FLAG_SET_TIMEOUT to signify the existence of this new field. When the new flag is included in the value of wdt_status, the field is used to set a per-channel timeout to override the per-GPU default. Add NVGPU_IOCTL_CHANNEL_WDT_FLAG_DISABLE_DUMP to disable the long debug dump when a timed out channel gets recovered by the watchdog. Printing the dump to serial console takes easily several seconds. (Note that there is NVGPU_TIMEOUT_FLAG_DISABLE_DUMP about ctxsw timeout separately for NVGPU_IOCTL_CHANNEL_SET_TIMEOUT_EX as well.) The behaviour of NVGPU_IOCTL_CHANNEL_WDT is changed so that either NVGPU_IOCTL_CHANNEL_ENABLE_WDT or NVGPU_IOCTL_CHANNEL_DISABLE_WDT has to be set. The old behaviour was that other values were silently ignored. The usage of the global default debugfs-controlled ch_wdt_timeout_ms is changed so that its value takes effect only for newly opened channels instead of in realtime. Also, zero value no longer means that the watchdog is disabled; there is a separate flag for that after all. gk20a_fifo_recover_tsg used to ignore the value of "verbose" when no engines were found. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add User space API NVGPU_AS_IOCTL_GET_SYNC_RO_MAP to get read-only syncpoint address map in user space We already map whole syncpoint shim to each address space with base address being vm->syncpt_ro_map_gpu_va This new API exposes this base GPU_VA address of syncpoint map, and unit size of each syncpoint to user space. User space can then calculate address of each syncpoint as syncpoint_address = base_gpu_va + (syncpoint_id * syncpoint_unit_size) Note that this syncpoint address is read_only, and should be only used for inserting semaphore acquires.
