From 543537bd922692bc978e2e356fcd8bfc9c2ee7d5 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Paulo Marques Date: Thu, 23 Jun 2005 00:09:02 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] create a kstrdup library function This patch creates a new kstrdup library function and changes the "local" implementations in several places to use this function. Most of the changes come from the sound and net subsystems. The sound part had already been acknowledged by Takashi Iwai and the net part by David S. Miller. I left UML alone for now because I would need more time to read the code carefully before making changes there. It ends up making the code smaller, and easier to follow, and fixes a few bugs at the same time (dynamic ids were not being matched everywhere, and so could be missed on some call paths for new devices, semaphore not needed to be grabbed when adding a new id and calling the driver core, etc.) I also renamed the function pci_match_device() to pci_match_id() as that's what it really does.
