From 2a48fc0ab24241755dc93bfd4f01d68efab47f5a Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Arnd Bergmann Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2010 14:28:52 +0200 Subject: block: autoconvert trivial BKL users to private mutex The block device drivers have all gained new lock_kernel calls from a recent pushdown, and some of the drivers were already using the BKL before. This turns the BKL into a set of per-driver mutexes. Still need to check whether this is safe to do. file=$1 name=$2 if grep -q lock_kernel ${file} ; then if grep -q 'include.*linux.mutex.h' ${file} ; then sed -i '/include.*/d' ${file} else sed -i 's/include.*.*$/include /g' ${file} fi sed -i ${file} \ -e "/^#include.*linux.mutex.h/,$ { 1,/^\(static\|int\|long\)/ { /^\(static\|int\|long\)/istatic DEFINE_MUTEX(${name}_mutex); } }" \ -e "s/\(un\)*lock_kernel\>[ ]*()/mutex_\1lock(\&${name}_mutex)/g" \ -e '/[ ]*cycle_kernel_lock();/d' else sed -i -e '/include.*\/d' ${file} \ -e '/cycle_kernel_lock()/d' fi Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann --- block/bsg.c | 3 --- 1 file changed, 3 deletions(-) (limited to 'block') diff --git a/block/bsg.c b/block/bsg.c index 82d58829ba59..ffd79ca25c05 100644 --- a/block/bsg.c +++ b/block/bsg.c @@ -20,7 +20,6 @@ #include #include #include -#include #include #include @@ -843,9 +842,7 @@ static int bsg_open(struct inode *inode, struct file *file) { struct bsg_device *bd; - lock_kernel(); bd = bsg_get_device(inode, file); - unlock_kernel(); if (IS_ERR(bd)) return PTR_ERR(bd); -- cgit v1.2.2
