* [NETLINK]: Switch cb_lock spinlock to mutex and allow to override itPatrick McHardy2007-04-26
| | | | | | | | | | Switch cb_lock to mutex and allow netlink kernel users to override it with a subsystem specific mutex for consistent locking in dump callbacks. All netlink_dump_start users have been audited not to rely on any side-effects of the previously used spinlock. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Convert skb->tail to sk_buff_data_tArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So that it is also an offset from skb->head, reduces its size from 8 to 4 bytes on 64bit architectures, allowing us to combine the 4 bytes hole left by the layer headers conversion, reducing struct sk_buff size to 256 bytes, i.e. 4 64byte cachelines, and since the sk_buff slab cache is SLAB_HWCACHE_ALIGN... :-) Many calculations that previously required that skb->{transport,network, mac}_header be first converted to a pointer now can be done directly, being meaningful as offsets or pointers. * [NETLINK]: Fix missing dst_groups initializations in netlink_broadcast usersPatrick McHardy2005-08-29
| | | | | | | | netlink_broadcast users must initialize NETLINK_CB(skb).dst_groups to the destination group mask for netlink_recvmsg. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETLINK]: Add properly module refcounting for kernel netlink sockets.Harald Welte2005-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | - Remove bogus code for compiling netlink as module - Add module refcounting support for modules implementing a netlink protocol - Add support for autoloading modules that implement a netlink protocol as soon as someone opens a socket for that protocol Signed-off-by: Harald Welte <laforge@netfilter.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
