* [PATCH] slab: remove unused align parameter from alloc_percpuPekka Enberg2006-01-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | __alloc_percpu and alloc_percpu both take an 'align' argument which is completely ignored. snmp6_mib_init() in net/ipv6/af_inet6.c attempts to use it, but it will be ignored. Therefore, remove the 'align' argument and fixup the lone caller. * [IPV6]: small cleanupsAdrian Bunk2006-01-07
| | | | | | | | | | This patch contains the following cleanups: - addrconf.c: make addrconf_dad_stop() static - inet6_connection_sock.c should #include <net/inet6_connection_sock.h> for getting the prototypes of it's global functions Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NETFILTER]: Fix xfrm lookup in ip_route_me_harder/ip6_route_me_harderPatrick McHardy2006-01-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ip_route_me_harder doesn't use the port numbers of the xfrm lookup and uses ip_route_input for non-local addresses which doesn't do a xfrm lookup, ip6_route_me_harder doesn't do a xfrm lookup at all. Use xfrm_decode_session and do the lookup manually, make sure both only do the lookup if the packet hasn't been transformed already. Makeing sure the lookup only happens once needs a new field in the IP6CB, which exceeds the size of skb->cb. The size of skb->cb is increased to 48b. Apparently the IPv6 mobile extensions need some more room anyway. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV4]: reset IPCB flags when neccessaryPatrick McHardy2006-01-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | Reset IPSKB_XFRM_TUNNEL_SIZE flags in ipip and ip_gre hard_start_xmit function before the packet reenters IP. This is neccessary so the encapsulated packets are checked not to be oversized in xfrm4_output.c again. Reset all flags in sit when a packet changes its address family. Also remove some obsolete IPSKB flags. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV4/6]: Netfilter IPsec input hooksPatrick McHardy2006-01-07
| | | | | | | | | | When the innermost transform uses transport mode the decapsulated packet is not visible to netfilter. Pass the packet through the PRE_ROUTING and LOCAL_IN hooks again before handing it to upper layer protocols to make netfilter-visibility symetrical to the output path. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV6]: Move nextheader offset to the IP6CBPatrick McHardy2006-01-07
| | | | | | | | | | Move nextheader offset to the IP6CB to make it possible to pass a packet to ip6_input_finish multiple times and have it skip already parsed headers. As a nice side effect this gets rid of the manual hopopts skipping in ip6_input_finish. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [XFRM]: Netfilter IPsec output hooksPatrick McHardy2006-01-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Call netfilter hooks before IPsec transforms. Packets visit the FORWARD/LOCAL_OUT and POST_ROUTING hook before the first encapsulation and the LOCAL_OUT and POST_ROUTING hook before each following tunnel mode transform. Patch from Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au>: Move the loop from dst_output into xfrm4_output/xfrm6_output since they're the only ones who need to it. xfrm{4,6}_output_one() processes the first SA all subsequent transport mode SAs and is called in a loop that calls the netfilter hooks between each two calls. In order to avoid the tail call issue, I've added the inline function nf_hook which is nf_hook_slow plus the empty list check. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NET]: Change 1500 to ETH_DATA_LEN in some filesKris Katterjohn2006-01-05

* [NETFILTER]: make ipv6_find_hdr() find transport protocol headerPatrick McHardy2006-01-05
| | | | | | | | | The original ipv6_find_hdr() finds the specified header in IPv6 packets. This makes it possible to get transport header so that we can kill similar loop in ip6_match_packet(). Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NET]: Add a dev_ioctl() fallback to sock_ioctl()Christoph Hellwig2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | Currently all network protocols need to call dev_ioctl as the default fallback in their ioctl implementations. This patch adds a fallback to dev_ioctl to sock_ioctl if the protocol returned -ENOIOCTLCMD. This way all the procotol ioctl handlers can be simplified and we don't need to export dev_ioctl. * [INET_SOCK]: Move struct inet_sock & helper functions to net/inet_sock.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | To help in reducing the number of include dependencies, several files were touched as they were getting needed headers indirectly for stuff they use. Thanks also to Alan Menegotto for pointing out that net/dccp/proto.c had linux/dccp.h include twice. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@mandriva.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NET]: move struct proto_ops to constEric Dumazet2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I noticed that some of 'struct proto_ops' used in the kernel may share a cache line used by locks or other heavily modified data. (default linker alignement is 32 bytes, and L1_CACHE_LINE is 64 or 128 at least) This patch makes sure a 'struct proto_ops' can be declared as const, so that all cpus can share all parts of it without false sharing. This is not mandatory : a driver can still use a read/write structure if it needs to (and eventually a __read_mostly) I made a global stubstitute to change all existing occurences to make them const. This should reduce the possibility of false sharing on SMP, and speedup some socket system calls. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <dada1@cosmosbay.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IP_SOCKGLUE]: Remove most of the tcp specific callsArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | As DCCP needs to be called in the same spots. Now we have a member in inet_sock (is_icsk), set at sock creation time from struct inet_protosw->flags (if INET_PROTOSW_ICSK is set, like for TCP and DCCP) to see if a struct sock instance is a inet_connection_sock for places like the ones in ip_sockglue.c (v4 and v6) where we previously were looking if sk_type was SOCK_STREAM, that is insufficient because we now use the same code for DCCP, that has sk_type SOCK_DCCP. * [INET6]: Generalise tcp_v6_hash_connectArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | Renaming it to inet6_hash_connect, making it possible to ditch dccp_v6_hash_connect and share the same code with TCP instead. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@mandriva.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [TWSK]: Introduce struct timewait_sock_opsArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | So that we can share several timewait sockets related functions and make the timewait mini sockets infrastructure closer to the request mini sockets one. Next changesets will take advantage of this, moving more code out of TCP and DCCP v4 and v6 to common infrastructure. * [IPV6]: Export ipv6_opt_acceptedArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03

* [IPV6]: Introduce inet6_timewait_sockArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Out of tcp6_timewait_sock, that now is just an aggregation of inet_timewait_sock and inet6_timewait_sock, using tw_ipv6_offset in struct inet_timewait_sock, that is common to the IPv6 transport protocols that use timewait sockets, like DCCP and TCP. tw_ipv6_offset plays the struct inet_sock pinfo6 role, i.e. for the generic code to find the IPv6 area in a timewait sock. * [IPV6]: Generalise some functionsArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | Using sk->sk_protocol instead of IPPROTO_TCP. Will be used by DCCPv6 in the next changesets. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@mandriva.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IP]: Simplify and consolidate MSG_PEEK error handlingHerbert Xu2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a packet is obtained from skb_recv_datagram with MSG_PEEK enabled it is left on the socket receive queue. This means that when we detect a checksum error we have to be careful when trying to free the packet as someone could have dequeued it in the time being. Currently this delicate logic is duplicated three times between UDPv4, UDPv6 and RAWv6. This patch moves them into a one place and simplifies the code somewhat. This is based on a suggestion by Eric Dumazet. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [ICSK]: Rename struct tcp_func to struct inet_connection_sock_af_opsArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03

* [IPV6]: Introduce inet6_rsk()Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03

* [IPV6]: Generalise tcp_v6_search_req & tcp_v6_synq_addArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | More work is needed tho to introduce inet6_request_sock from tcp6_request_sock, in the same layout considerations as ipv6_pinfo in inet_sock, next changeset will do that. * [NETFILTER] ip_tables: NUMA-aware allocationEric Dumazet2006-01-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Part of a performance problem with ip_tables is that memory allocation is not NUMA aware, but 'only' SMP aware (ie each CPU normally touch separate cache lines) Even with small iptables rules, the cost of this misplacement can be high on common workloads. Instead of using one vmalloc() area (located in the node of the iptables process), we now allocate an area for each possible CPU, using vmalloc_node() so that memory should be allocated in the CPU's node if possible. * [IPV6] mcast: Fix multiple issues in MLDv2 reports.David L Stevens2005-12-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The below "jumbo" patch fixes the following problems in MLDv2. 1) Add necessary "ntohs" to recent "pskb_may_pull" check [breaks all nonzero source queries on little-endian (!)] 2) Add locking to source filter list [resend of prior patch] 3) fix "mld_marksources()" to a) send nothing when all queried sources are excluded b) send full exclude report when source queried sources are not excluded c) don't schedule a timer when there's nothing to report NOTE: RFC 3810 specifies the source list should be saved and each source reported individually as an IS_IN. This is an obvious DOS path, requiring the host to store and then multicast as many sources as are queried (e.g., millions...). This alternative sends a full, relevant report that's limited to number of sources present on the machine. 4) fix "add_grec()" to send empty-source records when it should The original check doesn't account for a non-empty source list with all sources inactive; the new code keeps that short-circuit case, and also generates the group header with an empty list if needed. 5) fix mca_crcount decrement to be after add_grec(), which needs its original value These issues (other than item #1 ;-) ) were all found by Yan Zheng, much thanks! * | [IPV6]: Fix address deletionKristian Slavov2005-12-21
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If you add more than one IPv6 address belonging to the same prefix and delete the address that was last added, routing table entry for that prefix is also deleted. Tested on 2.6.14.4 To reproduce: ip addr add 3ffe::1/64 dev eth0 ip addr add 3ffe::2/64 dev eth0 /* wait DAD */ sleep 1 ip addr del 3ffe::2/64 dev eth0 ip -6 route (route to 3ffe::/64 should be gone) In ipv6_del_addr(), if ifa == ifp, we set ifa->if_next to NULL, and later assign ifap = &ifa->if_next, effectively terminating the for-loop. This prevents us from checking if there are other addresses using the same prefix that are valid, and thus resulting in deletion of the prefix. This applies only if the first entry in idev->addr_list is the address to be deleted.
