* do_mounts.c: Minor ROOT_DEV comment cleanupFlorin Malita2006-03-26
| | | | | | | | The ROOT_DEV comment is no longer accurate, it now seems to be initialized in init/do_mounts.c. Signed-off-by: Florin Malita <fmalita@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de>
* [PATCH] vfs: MS_VERBOSE should be MS_SILENTTheodore Ts'o2006-03-24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The meaning of MS_VERBOSE is backwards; if the bit is set, it really means, "don't be verbose". This is confusing and counter-intuitive. In addition, there is also no way to set the MS_VERBOSE flag in the mount(8) program in util-linux, but interesting, it does define options which would do the right thing if MS_SILENT were defined, which unfortunately we do not: #ifdef MS_SILENT { "quiet", 0, 0, MS_SILENT }, /* be quiet */ { "loud", 0, 1, MS_SILENT }, /* print out messages. */ #endif So the obvious fix is to deprecate the use of MS_VERBOSE and replace it with MS_SILENT. * [PATCH] remove driverfs references from init/do_mounts.cRolf Eike Beer2005-09-02
| | | | | | | | This patch is against 2.6.10, but still applies cleanly. It's just s/driverfs/sysfs/ in this file. Signed-off-by: Rolf Eike Beer <eike-kernel@sf-tec.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* [PATCH] name_to_dev_t warning fixAndrew Morton2005-07-12
| | | | | | | | kernel/power/disk.c needs a declaration of name_to_dev_t() in scope. mount.h seems like an appropriate choice. Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
