* | sock: add net to prot->enter_memory_pressure callbackPavel Emelyanov2008-07-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The tcp_enter_memory_pressure calls NET_INC_STATS, but doesn't have where to get the net from. I decided to add a sk argument, not the net itself, only to factor all the required sock_net(sk) calls inside the enter_memory_pressure callback itself. * | mib: add net to TCP_INC_STATS_BHPavel Emelyanov2008-07-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Same as before - the sock is always there to get the net from, but there are also some places with the net already saved on the stack. Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | mib: add net to TCP_INC_STATSPavel Emelyanov2008-07-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fortunately (almost) all the TCP code has a sock to get the net from :) Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | tcp: add net to tcp_mib_initPavel Emelyanov2008-07-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This one sets TCP MIBs after zeroing them, and thus requires the net. The existing single caller can use init_net (temporarily). Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | mib: drop unused TCP_XXX_STATS macrosPavel Emelyanov2008-07-16

* | mib: add net to IP_ADD_STATS_BHPavel Emelyanov2008-07-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Very simple - only ip_evictor (fragments) requires such. This patch ends up the IP_XXX_STATS patching. Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* | icmp: drop unused MIB accounting wrappersPavel Emelyanov2008-07-15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are ICMP_XXX_STATS that are not used in the kernel, so I remove them, not to "just patch" them later. But if there's some sense in keeping them, kick me - I will remake this set keeping them. Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | icmp: add struct net argument to icmp_out_countPavel Emelyanov2008-07-15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This routine deals with ICMP statistics, but doesn't have a struct net at hands, so add one. Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | tipc: Remove unneeded parameter to tipc_createport_raw()Allan Stephens2008-07-15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch eliminates an unneeded parameter when creating a low-level TIPC port object. Instead of returning both the pointer to the port structure and the port's reference ID, it now returns only the pointer since the port structure contains the reference ID as one of its fields. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Multiple issues: - there are no "default" values needed - cw_min/cw_max can be larger than documented - restructure to decrease size - use get_unaligned_le16 Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: John W. | * | mac80211: fix TX sequence numbersJohannes Berg2008-07-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch makes mac80211 assign proper sequence numbers to QoS-data frames. It also removes the old sequence number code because we noticed that only the driver or hardware can assign sequence numbers to non-QoS-data and especially management frames in a race-free manner because beacons aren't passed through mac80211's TX path. This patch also adds temporary code to the rt2x00 drivers to not break them completely, that code will have to be reworked for proper sequence numbers on beacons. It also moves sequence number assignment down in the TX path so no sequence numbers are assigned to frames that are dropped. | * | mac80211: revamp beacon configurationJohannes Berg2008-07-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch changes mac80211's beacon configuration handling to never pass skbs to the driver directly but rather always require the driver to use ieee80211_beacon_get(). Additionally, it introduces "change flags" on the config_interface() call to enable drivers to figure out what is changing. Finally, it removes the beacon_update() driver callback in favour of having IBSS beacon delivered by ieee80211_beacon_get() as well. * | net: Clean up explicit ->tx_queue references in link watch.David S. Miller2008-07-09
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | First, we add a qdisc_tx_changing() helper which returns true if the qdisc attachment is in transition. Second, we remove an assertion warning which is of limited value and is hard to express precisely in a multiqueue environment. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | pkt_sched: Add qdisc_all_tx_empty()David S. Miller2008-07-09
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a helper function, currently used by IRDA. This is being added so that we can contain and isolate as many explicit ->tx_queue references in the tree as possible. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | pkt_sched: Add qdisc_reset_all_tx().David S. Miller2008-07-09

* | pkt_sched: Remove 'dev' member of struct Qdisc.David S. Miller2008-07-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It can be obtained via the netdev_queue. So create a helper routine, qdisc_dev(), to make the transformations nicer looking. Now, qdisc_alloc() now no longer needs a net_device pointer argument. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | netdev: Create netdev_queue abstraction.David S. Miller2008-07-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A netdev_queue is an entity managed by a qdisc. Currently there is one RX and one TX queue, and a netdev_queue merely contains a backpointer to the net_device. The Qdisc struct is augmented with a netdev_queue pointer as well. Eventually the 'dev' Qdisc member will go away and we will have the resulting hierarchy: net_device --> netdev_queue --> Qdisc Also, qdisc_alloc() and qdisc_create_dflt() now take a netdev_queue pointer argument. * | net-sched: add dynamically sized qdisc class hash helpersPatrick McHardy2008-07-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently all qdiscs which allow to create classes uses a fixed sized hash table with size 16 to hash the classes. This causes a large bottleneck when using thousands of classes and unbound filters. Add helpers for dynamically sized class hashes to fix this. The following patches will convert the qdiscs to use them. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* | | vlan: Add GVRP supportPatrick McHardy2008-07-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add GVRP support for dynamically registering VLANs with switches. By default GVRP is disabled because we only support the applicant-only participant model, which means it should not be enabled on vlans that are members of a bridge. Since there is currently no way to cleanly determine that, the user is responsible for enabling it. The code is pretty small and low impact, its wrapped in a config option though because it depends on the GARP implementation and the STP core.
