"Highlights include:
- Some more DRC cleanup and performance work from Jeff Layton
- A gss-proxy upcall from Simo Sorce: currently krb5 mounts to the
server using credentials from Active Directory often fail due to
limitations of the svcgssd upcall interface. This replacement
lifts those limitations. The existing upcall is still supported
for backwards compatibility.
- More NFSv4.1 support: at this point, if a user with a current
client who upgrades from 4.0 to 4.1 should see no regressions. In
theory we do everything a 4.1 server is required to do. Patches
for a couple minor exceptions are ready for 3.11, and with those
and some more testing I'd like to turn 4.1 on by default in 3.11."
Fix up semantic conflict as per Stephen Rothwell and linux-next:
Commit 030d794bf498 ("SUNRPC: Use gssproxy upcall for server RPCGSS
authentication") adds two new users of "PDE(inode)->data", but we're
supposed to use "PDE_DATA(inode)" instead since commit d9dda78bad87
("procfs: new helper - PDE_DATA(inode)").
The old PDE() macro is no longer available since commit c30480b92cf4
("proc: Make the PROC_I() and PDE() macros internal to procfs")

In the gss-proxy case we don't want to have to reconnect at random--we
want to connect only on gss-proxy startup when we can steal gss-proxy's
context to do the connect in the right namespace.
So, provide a flag that allows the rpc_create caller to turn off the
idle timeout.

ASoC: More updates for v3.10
The main additional change here is Lars-Peter's DMA work plus the
platform conversions which have been tested - getting this in mainline
will make life easier for development after the merge window. These
factor a large chunk of code out of the drivers for the platforms using
dmaengine, greatly simplifying development.

ASoC: Updates for v3.10
A bunch of changes here, the most interesting one subsystem wise being
Morimoto-san's work to create snd_soc_component which doesn't do much
for now but will be pretty important going forwards:
- Add a new component object type which will form the basis of moving
to a more generic handling of SoC and off-SoC components, contributed
by Kuninori Morimoto.
- A fairly large set of cleanups for the dmaengine integration from
Lars-Peter Clausen, starting to move towards being able to have a
generic driver based on the library.
- Performance optimisations to DAPM from Ryo Tsutsui.
- Support for mixer control sharing in DAPM from Stephen Warren.
- Multiplatform ARM cleanups from Arnd Bergmann.
- New CODEC drivers for AK5385 and TAS5086 from Daniel Mack.

Some systems use the audio CODEC to clock a DAI with multiple data lines
in parallel, meaning that bit clocks are only required for a smaller number
of channels than data is sent for. In some cases providing the extra bit
clocks can take the other devices on the audio bus out of spec.
Support such systems by allowing a maximum number of channels to be
specified.

interaction between the HPDET function and the headphone outputs - we

UAC2 compliant audio devices may announce the capability to transport
raw audio data on their endpoints. Catch this and handle it as
'special' stream on the ALSA side.

Since I expect Linus to open the merge window in about a week I guess this
is the last i915 feature pull for 3.10. Highlights:

- VT-switchless suspend/resume from Jesse.
- The prep work of Egbert Eich's hpd irq storm handling. Hopefully we can
squeeze in the actual storm handling code for 3.10 ...
- More convenience helpers for Imre's sg iterator. Core parts acked by
Andrew Morton.
- A bit of backlight code cleanup from Jani.
- Fixed ilk gpu reset (Jesse).
- Reduced color range handling fixes for VLV (Ville).
The big item here is though the introduction of pipe_config to properly
pre-compute the desired modeset state before touching the hw. Together
with some very basic support to read out the current config from the hw
and compare the state with the sw tracking. This is all prep work for more
reliable fastboot, atomic modesets and other cool features. Stuff
converted to the new world includes:
- Most simple pipe attributes (reduce color range, pixel multiplier).
- Pipe bpp/dither handling.
- Some convenience flags like ->has_pch_encoder to simplify the code flow.
- (Almost) DP clock handling, had to be reverted since part of a prep
patch was lost in rebasing ...

For 3.10 I have a bunch of fixes queued up and I plan to send them all out
at the end of this week. I need to shuffle patches in my -next queue a bit
so that we don't but feature-y stuff in there, too. The main thing I'd
like to sneak in is Egbert's hpd irq storm handling, which should be
pretty low-risk since all the infrastructure work has landed already. I
also have the oops fix pending, but that only mustered review before the
w/e and giving how hairy that part of our modeset code is, I want to give
it some more testing before forwarding.
Note: annarchy.fd.o seems to run out of disk space, so couldn't push the
usual for-airlied branch. Tag should work though.
Note 2: I've had to do a backmerge since conflicts grew too ugly, but the
upstream -rc I've backmerged is already in your drm-next.

The i915 driver uses sg lists for memory without backing 'struct page'
pages, similarly to other IO memory regions, setting only the DMA
address for these. It does this, so that it can program the HW MMU
tables in a uniform way both for sg lists with and without backing pages.
Without a valid page pointer we can't call nth_page to get the current
page in __sg_page_iter_next, so add a helper that relevant users can
call separately. Also add a helper to get the DMA address of the current
page (idea from Daniel).
Convert all places in i915, to use the new API.

Use the new PM routines to indicate whether we need to VT switch at suspend
and resume time. When a new driver is bound, set its flag accordingly,
and when unbound, remove it from the PM's console tracking list.

KMS drivers can potentially restore the display configuration without
userspace help. Such drivers can can call a new funciton,
pm_vt_switch_required(false) if they support this feature. In that
case, the PM layer won't VT switch to the suspend console at suspend
time and then back to the original VT on resume, but rather leave things
alone for a nicer looking suspend and resume sequence.

The cputime scaling code was changed/fixed and does not need the
div64_u64_rem() primitive anymore. It has no other users, so let's
remove them.

timeriomem_rng only supports a single device instance. This patch
enables multiple timeriomem_rng devices to coexist as well as adds

Only AES use DMA in AT91SAM9G45 (TDES and SHA use PDC).
However latest Atmel TDES and SHA IP releases use DMA instead of PDC.
--> Atmel TDES and SHA drivers need DMA platform data for those IP releases.
Goal of this patch is to use the same platform data structure for all Atmel
crypto peripherals. This structure contains information about DMA interface.

Pull i2c changes from Wolfram Sang:
- an arbitration driver. While the driver is quite simple, it caused
discussion if we need additional arbitration on top of the one
specified in the I2C standard. Conclusion is that I accept a few
generic mechanisms, but not very specific ones.
- the core lost the detach_adapter() call. It has no users anymore and
was in the way for other cleanups. attach_adapter() is sadly still
there since there are users waiting to be converted.
- the core gained a bus recovery infrastructure. I2C defines a way to
recover if the data line is stalled. This mechanism is now in the
core and drivers can now pass some data to make use of it.
- bigger driver cleanups for designware, s3c2410
- removing superfluous refcounting from drivers
- removing Ben Dooks as second maintainer due to inactivity. Thanks
for all your work so far, Ben!

i2c_del_mux_adapter always returns 0 and none of it current users check its
return value anyway. It is also an essential requirement of the Linux device
driver model, that functions which may be called from a device's remove callback
to free resources provided by the device, are not allowed to fail. This is the
case for i2c_del_mux_adapter(), so make its return type void to make the
fact that it won't fail explicit.

i2c_del_adapter() is usually called from a drivers remove callback. The Linux
device driver model does not allow the remove callback to fail and all resources
allocated in the probe callback need to be freed, as well as all resources which
have been provided to the rest of the kernel(for example a I2C adapter) need to
be revoked. So any function revoking such resources isn't allowed to fail
either. i2c_del_adapter() adheres to this requirement and will never fail. But
i2c_del_adapter()'s return type is int, which may cause driver authors to think
that it can fail. This led to code constructs like:
ret = i2c_del_adapter(...);
BUG_ON(ret);
Since i2c_del_adapter() always returns 0 the BUG_ON is never hit and essentially
becomes dead code, which means it can be removed. Making the return type of
i2c_del_adapter() void makes it explicit that the function will never fail and
should prevent constructs like the above from re-appearing in the kernel code.
All callers of i2c_del_adapter() have already been updated in a previous patch
to ignore the return value, so the conversion of the return type from int to
void can be done without causing any build failures.

The detach_adapter callback has been deprecated for quite some time and has no
user left. Keeping it alive blocks other cleanups, so remove it.

Tegra only supports, and always enables, device tree. Remove all ifdefs
and runtime checks for DT support from the driver. Platform data is
therefore no longer required. Delete the header that defines it.

Add i2c bus recovery infrastructure to i2c adapters as specified in the i2c
protocol Rev. 03 section 3.1.16 titled "Bus clear".

Sometimes during operation i2c bus hangs and we need to give dummy clocks to
slave device to start the transfer again. Now we may have capability in the bus
controller to generate these clocks or platform may have gpio pins which can be
toggled to generate dummy clocks. This patch supports both.
This patch also adds in generic bus recovery routines gpio or scl line based
which can be used by bus controller. In addition controller driver may provide
its own version of the bus recovery routine.
This doesn't support multi-master recovery for now.

These are specialized versions of virtqueue_add_buf(), which cover
over 80% of cases and are far clearer.
In particular, the scatterlists passed to these functions don't have
to be clean (ie. we ignore end markers).

the whole sg array. Some other things get slightly neater, too.
This causes a slowdown in virtqueue_add_buf(), which is implemented as
a wrapper. This is addressed in the next patches.

Add the CAIF Virtio shared memory driver for talking
to a modem.
This CAIF Link layer communicates to the modem over
shared memory. It is implemented as a virtio_driver.
The underlying virtio device is managed by the remoteproc
framework. The Virtio queue is used for transmitting data
to the modem, and the new vringh is used for receiving data.
Genalloc is used for managing the shared memory used for TX
data. The default dma-alloc-coherent allocator can only
allocate whole pages, and this wastes too much shared memory.
Flow control is implemented by stopping the TX-queues if the
virtio queues go full or we run out of memory. Queued are
reopened when queues are below the watermark.
NAPI is used in RX path, and a dedicated tasklet is used
for releasing TX buffers.

Add wrappers for the host vrings to support loose
coupling between the virtio device and driver.
A new struct vringh_config_ops with the functions
find_vrhs() and del_vrhs() is added to the virtio_device
struct. This enables virtio drivers to manage virtio
host rings without detailed knowledge of how the
vrings are created and deleted.
The function vringh_notify() is added so vringh clients
can notify the other side that buffers are added to the
used-ring.

Getting use of virtio rings correct is tricky, and a recent patch saw
an implementation of in-kernel rings (as separate from userspace).
This abstracts the business of dealing with the virtio ring layout
from the access (userspace or direct); to do this, we use function
pointers, which gcc inlines correctly.
