It seems that was linux/blk_types.h incorrectly exported to fix up some missing
bits required by the exported parts of linux/fs.h (READ, WRITE, READA, etc.).
So unexport linux/blk_types.h and unexport the relevant bits of linux/fs.h.

This code added creates a link between temperature sensors, linux thermal
framework and cooling devices for samsung exynos platform. This layer
monitors the temperature from the sensor and informs the generic thermal

This movement is needed because the hwmon entries and corresponding sysfs
interface is a duplicate of utilities already provided by
driver/thermal/thermal_sys.c. The goal is to place it in thermal folder
and add necessary functions to use the in-kernel thermal interfaces.

This patchset introduces a new generic cooling device based on cpufreq
that can be used on non-ACPI platforms. As a proof of concept, we have
drivers for the following platforms using this mechanism now:
* Samsung Exynos (Exynos4 and Exynos5) in the current patchset.
* Freescale i.MX (git://git.linaro.org/people/amitdanielk/linux.git imx6q_thermal)
There is a small change in cpufreq cooling registration APIs, so a minor
change is needed for Freescale platforms.
Brief Description:
1) The generic cooling devices code is placed inside driver/thermal/*
as placing inside acpi folder will need un-necessary enabling of acpi
code. This code is architecture independent.
2) This patchset adds generic cpu cooling low level implementation
through frequency clipping. In future, other cpu related cooling
devices may be added here. An ACPI version of this already exists
(drivers/acpi/processor_thermal.c) .But this will be useful for
platforms like ARM using the generic thermal interface along with the
generic cpu cooling devices. The cooling device registration API's
return cooling device pointers which can be easily binded with the
thermal zone trip points. The important APIs exposed are,
a) struct thermal_cooling_device *cpufreq_cooling_register(
struct cpumask *clip_cpus)
b) void cpufreq_cooling_unregister(struct thermal_cooling_device *cdev)
3) Samsung exynos platform thermal implementation is done using the
generic cpu cooling APIs and the new trip type. The temperature sensor
driver present in the hwmon folder(registered as hwmon driver) is moved
to thermal folder and registered as a thermal driver.
A simple data/control flow diagrams is shown below,

This patch:
Add support for generic cpu thermal cooling low level implementations
using frequency scaling up/down based on the registration parameters.
Different cpu related cooling devices can be registered by the user and
the binding of these cooling devices to the corresponding trip points can
be easily done as the registration APIs return the cooling device pointer.
The user of these APIs are responsible for passing clipping frequency .
The drivers can also register to recieve notification about any cooling
action called.

we need to go over all the thermal_instance list of a cooling device
to decide which cooling state to put the cooling device to.
But at this time, as a cooling device may be referenced in multiple
thermal zones, we need to lock the list first in case
another thermal zone is updating this cooling device.

This fixes the problem that a cooling device may be referenced by
by multiple trip points in multiple thermal zones.
With this patch, we have two stages for updating a thermal zone,
1. check if a thermal_instance needs to be updated or not
2. update the cooling device, based on the target cooling state
of all its instances.
Note that, currently, the cooling device is set to the deepest
cooling state required.

According to ACPI spec, tc1 and tc2 are used by OSPM
to anticipate the temperature trends.
We introduced the same concept to the generic thermal layer
for passive cooling, but now it seems that these values
are hard to be used on other platforms.
So We introduce .get_trend() as a more general solution.
For the platform thermal drivers that have their own way to
anticipate the temperature trends, they should provide
their own .get_trend() callback.
Or else, we will calculate the temperature trends by simply
comparing the current temperature and the cached previous
temperature reading.

When using audit on OpenRISC, an audit arch is needed. This defines
it and fixes a compile-time bug uncovered in linux-next, likely from a
cut/paste from an arch with 64/32-bit modes that defined arch_arch():
arch/openrisc/kernel/ptrace.c:190:2: error: implicit declaration of function 'audit_arch'
This replaces it with the newly defined AUDIT_ARCH_OPENRISC, since it
is only 32-bit, and currently only operates in big-endian mode.

Support the LUN parameter change event. Currently, the host fires this event
when the capacity of a disk is changed from the virtual machine monitor.
The resize then appears in the kernel log like this:

Extend the amount of character devices, such as eventX, mouseX and jsX,
from a hard limit of 32 per input handler to about 1024 shared across
all handlers.
To be compatible with legacy installations input handlers will start
creating char devices with minors in their legacy range, however once
legacy range is exhausted they will start allocating minors from the
dynamic range 256-1024.

You can use nfsd/portlist to give nfsd additional sockets to listen on.
In theory you can also remove listening sockets this way. But nobody's
ever done that as far as I can tell.
Also this was partially broken in 2.6.25, by
a217813f9067b785241cb7f31956e51d2071703a "knfsd: Support adding
transports by writing portlist file".
(Note that we decide whether to take the "delfd" case by checking for a
digit--but what's actually expected in that case is something made by
svc_one_sock_name(), which won't begin with a digit.)
So, let's just rip out this stuff.

the device suggests to the host that the device may be suspended

VXLAN bases source UDP port based on flow to help the
receiver to be able to load balance based on outer header flow.
This patch restricts the port range to the normal UDP local
ports, and allows overriding via configuration.
It also uses jhash of Ethernet header when looking at flows
with out know L3 header.

The !CONFIG_OF stubs aren't static so if multiple files include the

Stephane thought the perf_cpu_context::active_pmu name confusing and
suggested using 'unique_pmu' instead.
This pointer is a pointer to a 'random' pmu sharing the cpuctx
instance, therefore limiting a for_each_pmu loop to those where
cpuctx->unique_pmu matches the pmu we get a loop over unique cpuctx
instances.

Pull third pile of kernel_execve() patches from Al Viro:
"The last bits of infrastructure for kernel_thread() et.al., with
alpha/arm/x86 use of those. Plus sanitizing the asm glue and
do_notify_resume() on alpha, fixing the "disabled irq while running
task_work stuff" breakage there.
At that point the rest of kernel_thread/kernel_execve/sys_execve work
can be done independently for different architectures. The only
pending bits that do depend on having all architectures converted are
restrictred to fs/* and kernel/* - that'll obviously have to wait for
the next cycle.
I thought we'd have to wait for all of them done before we start
eliminating the longjump-style insanity in kernel_execve(), but it
turned out there's a very simple way to do that without flagday-style
changes."

caller (selected by CONFIG_GENERIC_KERNEL_EXECVE). Callers
updated accordingly.
* architecture that does select GENERIC_KERNEL_EXECVE in its
Kconfig should have its ret_from_kernel_thread() do this:

call the callback left for it by copy_thread(); if it ever
returns, that's because it has just done successful kernel_execve()
jump to return from syscall
IOW, its only difference from ret_from_fork() is that it does call the
callback.
* such an architecture should also get rid of ret_from_kernel_execve()
and __ARCH_WANT_KERNEL_EXECVE
This is the last part of infrastructure patches in that area - from
that point on work on different architectures can live independently.
