* [XTENSA] Add support for cache-aliasingChris Zankel2007-08-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Add support for processors that have cache-aliasing issues, such as the Stretch S5000 processor. Cache-aliasing means that the size of the cache (for one way) is larger than the page size, thus, a page can end up in several places in cache depending on the virtual to physical translation. The method used here is to map a user page temporarily through the auto-refill way 0 and of of the DTLB. We probably will want to revisit this issue and use a better approach with kmap/kunmap. * [XTENSA] Add support for executable/non-executable feature in the mmuChris Zankel2007-08-27
| | | | | | | | | Newer processor versions starting with Xtensa6/LX2 support an 'executable' bit for memory pages. This bit replaces the 'valid' bit, so it must be always set to one for older processor versions. To mark a page invalid, we now set the cache-attributes to b11, which is backward compatible. * mm: remove ptep_test_and_clear_dirty and ptep_clear_flush_dirtyMartin Schwidefsky2007-07-17
| | | | | | | | | | Nobody is using ptep_test_and_clear_dirty and ptep_clear_flush_dirty. Remove the functions from all architectures. * page table handling cleanupJan Beulich2007-07-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | Kill pte_rdprotect(), pte_exprotect(), pte_mkread(), pte_mkexec(), pte_read(), pte_exec(), and pte_user() except where arch-specific code is making use of them. * [PATCH] xtensa: remove extra header filesChris Zankel2006-12-10
| | | | | | | | | | | The Xtensa port contained many header files that were never needed. This rather lengthy patch removes all those files. Unfortunately, there were many dependencies that needed to be updated, so this patch touches quite a few source files. * [PATCH] Standardize pxx_page macrosDave McCracken2006-09-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | One of the changes necessary for shared page tables is to standardize the pxx_page macros. pte_page and pmd_page have always returned the struct page associated with their entry, while pte_page_kernel and pmd_page_kernel have returned the kernel virtual address. pud_page and pgd_page, on the other hand, return the kernel virtual address. Shared page tables needs pud_page and pgd_page to return the actual page structures. There are very few actual users of these functions, so it is simple to standardize their usage. Since this is basic cleanup, I am submitting these changes as a standalone patch. Per Hugh Dickins' comments about it, I am also changing the pxx_page_kernel macros to pxx_page_vaddr to clarify their meaning. * [PATCH] fix remaining missing includesTim Schmielau2005-11-07
| | | | | | | | | | Fix more include file problems that surfaced since I submitted the previous fix-missing-includes.patch. This should now allow not to include sched.h from module.h, which is done by a followup patch.
