* new helper: ihold()Al Viro2010-10-25
| | | | | | Clones an existing reference to inode; caller must already hold one. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>
* minix: fix regression in minix_mkdir()Jorge Boncompte [DTI2]2010-09-09
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 9eed1fb721c ("minix: replace inode uid,gid,mode init with helper") broke directory creation on minix filesystems. Fix it by passing the needed mode flag to inode init helper. * minix: remove !NO_TRUNCATE codeAdrian Bunk2008-07-25
| | | | | | | | | This patch removes the !NO_TRUNCATE code that anyway required a manual editing of the code for being used. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* iget: stop the MINIX filesystem from using iget() and read_inode()David Howells2008-02-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Stop the MINIX filesystem from using iget() and read_inode(). Replace minix_read_inode() with minix_iget(), and call that instead of iget(). minix_iget() then uses iget_locked() directly and returns a proper error code instead of an inode in the event of an error. minix_fill_super() returns any error incurred when getting the root inode instead of EINVAL. * [PATCH] mark struct inode_operations const 2Arjan van de Ven2007-02-12
| | | | | | | | | | | Many struct inode_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. * [PATCH] r/o bind mounts: unlink: monitor i_nlinkDave Hansen2006-10-01
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a filesystem decrements i_nlink to zero, it means that a write must be performed in order to drop the inode from the filesystem. We're shortly going to have keep filesystems from being remounted r/o between the time that this i_nlink decrement and that write occurs. So, add a little helper function to do the decrements. We'll tie into it in a bit to note when i_nlink hits zero. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
