* device create: misc: convert device_create_drvdata to device_createGreg Kroah-Hartman2008-10-16
| | | | | | | | Now that device_create() has been audited, rename things back to the original call to be sane. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
* coda: remove CODA_FS_OLD_APIAdrian Bunk2008-07-25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While fixing CONFIG_ leakages to the userspace kernel headers I ran into CODA_FS_OLD_API. After five years, are there still people using the old API left? Especially considering that you have to choose at compile time which API to support in the kernel (and distributions tend to offer the new API for some time). Jan: "The old API can definitely go. Around the time the new interface went in there were some non-Coda userspace file system implementations that took a while longer to convert to the new API, but by now they all switched to the new interface or in some cases to a FUSE-based solution." * device create: coda: convert device_create to device_create_drvdataGreg Kroah-Hartman2008-07-22
| | | | | | | | | device_create() is race-prone, so use the race-free device_create_drvdata() instead as device_create() is going away. Cc: Jan Harkes <jaharkes@cs.cmu.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

* coda: do not grab an uninitialized fd when the open upcall returns an errorJan Harkes2007-07-19

* [PATCH] Make most file operations structs in fs/ constArjan van de Ven2006-03-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a conversion to make the various file_operations structs in fs/ const. Basically a regexp job, with a few manual fixups The goal is both to increase correctness (harder to accidentally write to shared datastructures) and reducing the false sharing of cachelines with things that get dirty in .data (while .rodata is nicely read only and thus cache clean) Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* [PATCH] Driver Core: fix up all callers of class_device_create()Greg Kroah-Hartman2005-10-28
| | | | | | | | The previous patch adding the ability to nest struct class_device changed the paramaters to the call class_device_create(). This patch fixes up all in-kernel users of the function. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
