* filesystems: add set_nlink()Miklos Szeredi2011-11-02
| | | | | | | | | Replace remaining direct i_nlink updates with a new set_nlink() updater function. Signed-off-by: Miklos Szeredi <mszeredi@suse.cz> Tested-by: Toshiyuki Okajima <toshi.okajima@jp.fujitsu.com> Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>
* filesystems: add missing nlink wrappersMiklos Szeredi2011-11-02
| | | | | | | Replace direct i_nlink updates with the respective updater function (inc_nlink, drop_nlink, clear_nlink, inode_dec_link_count). Signed-off-by: Miklos Szeredi <mszeredi@suse.cz>
* fs: dcache per-inode inode alias lockingNick Piggin2011-01-07
| | | | | | | | | dcache_inode_lock can be replaced with per-inode locking. Use existing inode->i_lock for this. This is slightly non-trivial because we sometimes need to find the inode from the dentry, which requires d_inode to be stabilised (either with refcount or d_lock). Signed-off-by: Nick Piggin <npiggin@kernel.dk>
* fs: dcache remove dcache_lockNick Piggin2011-01-07
| | | | | | dcache_lock no longer protects anything. remove it. Signed-off-by: Nick Piggin <npiggin@kernel.dk>
* fs: scale inode alias listNick Piggin2011-01-07
| | | | | | | Add a new lock, dcache_inode_lock, to protect the inode's i_dentry list from concurrent modification. d_alias is also protected by d_lock. Signed-off-by: Nick Piggin <npiggin@kernel.dk>
* affs: fix missing unlocks in affs_remove_linkChristoph Hellwig2009-03-27
| | | | | | | | In two error cases affs_remove_link doesn't call affs_unlock_dir to release the i_hash_lock semaphore. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>
* iget: stop AFFS from using iget() and read_inode()David Howells2008-02-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Stop the AFFS filesystem from using iget() and read_inode(). Replace affs_read_inode() with affs_iget(), and call that instead of iget(). affs_iget() then uses iget_locked() directly and returns a proper error code instead of an inode in the event of an error. affs_fill_super() returns any error incurred when getting the root inode instead of EINVAL. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
