This causes it to overflow packet length values of 128KB or more. I changed the field to 32 bits to fix this. The pktcdvd driver defaulted to its maximum allowed packet length when it detected a 0 in the track info field. I changed this to fail the operation and refuse to access the media. This seems more sane than attempting to access it with a value that almost certainly will not work. It can happen if console was PCI port which can not detected at the time of register_console. This patch is to initialize port->lock for such console port. With this change, most of spin_lock_init() (some of them are labeled "Temporary fix.") in low-level serial drivers can be omitted. There seems to be no libata driver (yet), but there is an ide driver, hpt366. When the driver gets loaded, it causes a kernel NULL pointer dereference in pci_bus_clock_list. It seems to be because the driver is waiting for clock stabilization in init_hpt37x() which never comes. The driver just continues on with the pci drvdata set to NULL, instead of a valid clock entry. The following patch prevents the NULL dereference from happening, but instead exit with an error.
