* [PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau2007-02-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). * [PATCH] mark struct file_operations const 6Arjan van de Ven2007-02-12
| | | | | | | | | | | Many struct file_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. * [PATCH] ps3: Virtual Frame Buffer DriverGeert Uytterhoeven2007-02-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add the PS3 Virtual Frame Buffer Driver. As the actual graphics hardware cannot be accessed directly by Linux, ps3fb uses a virtual frame buffer in main memory. The actual screen image is copied to graphics memory by the GPU on every vertical blank, by making a hypervisor call. * [PATCH] fb_videomode_to_var: reset virtual screen parametersGeert Uytterhoeven2007-02-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | fb_videomode_to_var(): reset the virtual screen parameters when converting from an fb_videomode to an fb_var_screeninfo. Without this the old virtual screen parameters are kept. Hence you cannot switch to a video mode with a lower resolution on frame buffer devices that don't support virtual screens and panning, as values are not supposed to be rounded down when they don't fit. I also reordered the assignments to match the order of the individual members. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch set adds generic abstract layer support for acpi video driver to have generic user interface to control backlight and output switch control by leveraging the existing backlight sysfs class driver, and by adding a new video output sysfs class driver. This patch: Add dev argument for backlight_device_register to link the class device to real device object. The platform specific driver should find a way to get the real device object for their video device. * | | [PATCH] gxt4500: Fix colormap and PLL setting, support GXT6000PPaul Mackerras2006-12-22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This fixes some bugs in the gxt4500 framebuffer driver, and adds support for GXT6000P cards. First, I had the red and blue channels swapped in the colormap update code, resulting in penguins' noses and feet turning blue (though the penguins weren't actually shivering :). Secondly, the code that calculated the values to put in the PLL that generates the pixel clock wasn't observing some constraints that I wasn't originally aware of, but am now that I have some documentation on the chip. The GXT6000P is essentially identical from software's point of view, except for a different reference clock for the PLL, and the addition of a geometry engine (which this driver doesn't use).
