* fbdev: add palette register check to several driversKrzysztof Helt2009-12-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add check if palette register number is in correct range for few drivers which miss it. The regno value comes indirectly from user space. Two drivers has converted check from BUG_ON() macro to just return an error (non-zero value). * pmagb-b-fb: improve diagnosticsMaciej W. Rozycki2007-10-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add error messages to the probe call. [adaplas] On failure, return actual error value instead of -ENXIO. Signed-off-by: Maciej W. * [TC] pmagb-b-fb: Convert to the driver modelMaciej W. Rozycki2007-02-09
| | | | | | | | | | | This is a set of changes to convert the driver to the driver model. As a side-effect the driver now supports building as a module. Signed-off-by: Maciej W. * [PATCH] pmagb-b-fb: Fix a default clock frequencyMaciej W. Rozycki2006-12-08
| | | | | | | | | | | Inspection of real hardware has revealed one of the clock frequencies known to be supported by PMAGB-B hardware is off by 3kHz. Following is a fix. Please apply. * [PATCH] drivers/video: Use ARRAY_SIZE macroTobias Klauser2006-03-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Use ARRAY_SIZE macro instead of sizeof(x)/sizeof(x[0]) and remove duplicates of ARRAY_SIZE. Some coding style and trailing whitespaces are also fixed. Compile-tested where possible (some are other arch or BROKEN) Signed-off-by: Tobias Klauser <tklauser@nuerscht.ch> Cc: "Antonino A. * [PATCH] remove bogus asm/bug.h includes.Al Viro2006-02-07
| | | | | | | A bunch of asm/bug.h includes are both not needed (since it will get pulled anyway) and bogus (since they are done too early). Removed. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>
* [PATCH] fbcon/fbdev: Move softcursor out of fbdev to fbconAntonino A. Daplas2005-11-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to Jon Smirl, filling in the field fb_cursor with soft_cursor for drivers that do not support hardware cursors is redundant. The soft_cursor function is usable by all drivers because it is just a wrapper around fb_imageblit. And because soft_cursor is an fbcon-specific hook, the file is moved to the console directory. Thus, drivers that do not support hardware cursors can leave the fb_cursor field blank. For drivers that do, they can fill up this field with their own version. The end result is a smaller code size. And if the framebuffer console is not loaded, module/kernel size is also reduced because the soft_cursor module will also not be loaded. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
