* cyber2000fb: fix console in truecolor modesOndrej Zary2010-07-30
| | | | | | | | | Return value was not set to 0 in setcolreg() with truecolor modes. This causes fb_set_cmap() to abort after first color, resulting in blank palette - and blank console in 24bpp and 32bpp modes. * cyber2000fb: fix machine hang on module loadOndrej Zary2010-07-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | I was testing two CyberPro 2000 based PCI cards on x86 and the machine always hanged completely when the cyber2000fb module was loaded. It seems that the card hangs when some registers are accessed too quickly after writing RAMDAC control register. With this patch, both card work. Add delay after RAMDAC control register write to prevent hangs on module load. Signed-off-by: Ondrej Zary <linux@rainbow-software.org> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

* cyber2000fb.c: use proper method for stopping unload if CONFIG_ARCH_SHARKRusty Russell2009-06-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Russell explains the __module_get(): > cyber2000fb.c does it in its module initialization function > to prevent the module (when built for Shark) from being unloaded. It > does this because it's from the days of 2.2 kernels and no one bothered > writing the module unload support for Shark. Since 2.4, the correct answer has been to not define an unload fn. * pci: use pci_ioremap_bar() in drivers/videoArjan van de Ven2009-01-06
| | | | | | | | | | | | Use the newly introduced pci_ioremap_bar() function in drivers/video. pci_ioremap_bar() just takes a pci device and a bar number, with the goal of making it really hard to get wrong, while also having a central place to stick sanity checks. * [PATCH] vt: Remove VT-specific declarations and definitions from tty.hJon Smirl2006-07-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | MAX_NR_CONSOLES, fg_console, want_console and last_console are more of a function of the VT layer than the TTY one. Moving these to vt.h and vt_kern.h allows all of the framebuffer and VT console drivers to remove their dependency on tty.h. * [PATCH] fbcon/fbdev: Move softcursor out of fbdev to fbconAntonino A. Daplas2005-11-07
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to Jon Smirl, filling in the field fb_cursor with soft_cursor for drivers that do not support hardware cursors is redundant. The soft_cursor function is usable by all drivers because it is just a wrapper around fb_imageblit. And because soft_cursor is an fbcon-specific hook, the file is moved to the console directory. Thus, drivers that do not support hardware cursors can leave the fb_cursor field blank. For drivers that do, they can fill up this field with their own version. The end result is a smaller code size. And if the framebuffer console is not loaded, module/kernel size is also reduced because the soft_cursor module will also not be loaded. * Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds2005-04-16
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
