* serial: Remove old SC26XX driverAlexander Shiyan2013-12-19
| | | | | | | | New driver for NXP (Philips) UART ICs was introduced in September 2012. Old driver no longer used anywhere, this patch removes it. Signed-off-by: Alexander Shiyan <shc_work@mail.ru> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* serial: use dev_get_platdata()Jingoo Han2013-07-31
| | | | | | | | Use the wrapper function for retrieving the platform data instead of accessing dev->platform_data directly. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* serial: use platform_{get,set}_drvdata()Jingoo Han2013-06-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | Use the wrapper functions for getting and setting the driver data using platform_device instead of using dev_{get,set}_drvdata() with &pdev->dev, so we can directly pass a struct platform_device. Also, unnecessary dev_set_drvdata() is removed, because the driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure. * TTY: switch tty_flip_buffer_pushJiri Slaby2013-01-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now, we start converting tty buffer functions to actually use tty_port. This will allow us to get rid of the need of tty in many call sites. Only tty_port will needed and hence no more tty_port_tty_get in those paths. Now, the one where most of tty_port_tty_get gets removed: tty_flip_buffer_push. IOW we also closed all the races in drivers not using tty_port_tty_get at all yet. Also we move tty_flip_buffer_push declaration from include/linux/tty.h to include/linux/tty_flip.h to all others while we are changing it anyway. * TTY: switch tty_insert_flip_charJiri Slaby2013-01-16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Now, we start converting tty buffer functions to actually use tty_port. This will allow us to get rid of the need of tty in many call sites. Only tty_port will needed and hence no more tty_port_tty_get in those paths. tty_insert_flip_char is the next one to proceed. This one is used all over the code, so the patch is huge. * serial: Add note about migration to driver SCCNXPAlexander Shiyan2012-09-05

* TTY: serial: convert drivers/tty/serial/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin2011-11-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the drivers in drivers/tty/serial/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. * tty: move drivers/serial/ to drivers/tty/serial/Greg Kroah-Hartman2011-01-13
The serial drivers are really just tty drivers, so move them to drivers/tty/ to make things a bit neater overall. This is part of the tty/serial driver movement proceedure as proposed by Arnd Bergmann and approved by everyone involved a number of months ago.
