* drivercore: Add helper macro for platform_driver boilerplateGrant Likely2011-10-24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | For simple modules that contain a single platform_driver without any additional setup code then ends up being a block of duplicated boilerplate. This patch adds a new macro, module_platform_driver(), which replaces the module_init()/module_exit() registrations with template functions. * tty: of_serial: support for 32 bit accessesJamie Iles2011-06-30
| | | | | | | | | | | Some platforms e.g. TI Davinci require 32-bit accesses to the UARTs. The of_serial driver currently registers all UARTs as UPIO_MEM. Add a new attribute "reg-io-width" to allow the port to be registered with different IO width requirements. * drivercore: revert addition of of_match to struct deviceGrant Likely2011-05-18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit b826291c, "drivercore/dt: add a match table pointer to struct device" added an of_match pointer to struct device to cache the of_match_table entry discovered at driver match time. This was unsafe because matching is not an atomic operation with probing a driver. If two or more drivers are attempted to be matched to a driver at the same time, then the cached matching entry pointer could get overwritten. This patch reverts the of_match cache pointer and reworks all users to call of_match_device() directly instead. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Get rid of users of of_platform_driver in drivers/serial. The of_platform_{,un}register_driver functions are going away, so the users need to be converted to using the platform_bus_type directly. * tty: move drivers/serial/ to drivers/tty/serial/Greg Kroah-Hartman2011-01-13
The serial drivers are really just tty drivers, so move them to drivers/tty/ to make things a bit neater overall. This is part of the tty/serial driver movement proceedure as proposed by Arnd Bergmann and approved by everyone involved a number of months ago.
