* | [PATCH] pcmcia: at91_cf suspend/resume/wakeupDavid Brownell2006-06-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | AT91 CF updates, mostly for power management: - Add suspend/resume methods to the AT91 CF driver, disabling non-wakeup IRQs during system suspend. The card detect IRQ serves as a wakeup event source. - Convert the driver to the more-current "platform_driver" style. So inserting or removing a CF card will wake the system, unless that has been disabled by updating the sysfs file; and there will be no more warnings about spurious IRQs during suspend/resume cycles. * | [PATCH] pcmcia: TI PCIxx12 CardBus controller supportAlex Williamson2006-06-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The patch below adds support for the TI PCIxx12 CardBus controllers. This seems to be sufficient to detect the cardbus bridge on an HP nc6320 and works with an orinoco wifi card. * | [PATCH] pcmcia: warn if driver requests exclusive, but gets a shared IRQAlan Cox2006-06-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The patch below cleans up the pcmcia code a bit on the IRQ side (I did this while debugging the problem just so I could read wtf it was doing), and also adds a warning and passes back the correct information when a device asks for exclusive but gets given shared. This at least means the dmesg dump of a problem triggered by this will have a signature to find. * | [PATCH] genirq: rename desc->handler to desc->chipIngo Molnar2006-06-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch-queue improves the generic IRQ layer to be truly generic, by adding various abstractions and features to it, without impacting existing functionality. While the queue can be best described as "fix and improve everything in the generic IRQ layer that we could think of", and thus it consists of many smaller features and lots of cleanups, the one feature that stands out most is the new 'irq chip' abstraction. The irq-chip abstraction is about describing and coding and IRQ controller driver by mapping its raw hardware capabilities [and quirks, if needed] in a straightforward way, without having to think about "IRQ flow" (level/edge/etc.) type of details. This stands in contrast with the current 'irq-type' model of genirq architectures, which 'mixes' raw hardware capabilities with 'flow' details. The patchset supports both types of irq controller designs at once, and converts i386 and x86_64 to the new irq-chip design. As a bonus side-effect of the irq-chip approach, chained interrupt controllers (master/slave PIC constructs, etc.) are now supported by design as well. The end result of this patchset intends to be simpler architecture-level code and more consolidation between architectures. We reused many bits of code and many concepts from Russell King's ARM IRQ layer, the merging of which was one of the motivations for this patchset. This patch: rename desc->handler to desc->chip. Originally i did not want to do this, because it's a big patch. But having both "desc->handler", "desc->handle_irq" and "action->handler" caused a large degree of confusion and made the code appear alot less clean than it truly is. I have also attempted a dual approach as well by introducing a desc->chip alias - but that just wasnt robust enough and broke frequently. So lets get over with this quickly. The conversion was done automatically via scripts and converts all the code in the kernel. This renaming patch is the first one amongst the patches, so that the remaining patches can stay flexible and can be merged and split up without having some big monolithic patch act as a merge barrier. * | [PATCH] spin/rwlock init cleanupsIngo Molnar2006-06-27
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | locking init cleanups: - convert " = SPIN_LOCK_UNLOCKED" to spin_lock_init() or DEFINE_SPINLOCK() - convert rwlocks in a similar manner this patch was generated automatically. Motivation: - cleanliness - lockdep needs control of lock initialization, which the open-coded variants do not give - it's also useful for -rt and for lock debugging in general Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* [PATCH] pcmcia/pcmcia_resource.c: fix crash when using Cardbus cardsDaniel Ritz2006-04-21
| | | | | | | | | | | | Using the old ioctl interface together with cardbus card gives a NULL pointer dereference since cardbus devices don't have a struct pcmcia_device. also s->io[0].res can be NULL as well. Fix is to move the pcmcia code after the cardbus code and to check for a null pointer. Signed-off-by: Daniel Ritz <daniel.ritz@gmx.ch> Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>

* Fix AT91RM9200 build breakageDavid Brownell2006-04-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The at91_cf driver got out of sync with certain changes in the PCMCIA layer, notably getting rid of some duplication of data ... causing the version merged to kernel.org to fail compiling. This patch gives the at91_cf platform device a new iomem resource, using it so this new pcmcia scheme works. It also cleans up some whitepsace bugs that have accumulated over time (mostly too-long lines). | * [PATCH] pcmcia: use bitfield instead of p_state and stateDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of the two status values struct pcmcia_device->p_state and state, use descriptive bitfields. Most value-checking in drivers was invalid, as the core now only calls the ->remove() (a.k.a. detach) function in case the attachement _and_ configuration was successful. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: remove unused p_dev->state flagsDominik Brodowski2006-03-31

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | dev_link_t * and client_handle_t both mean struct pcmcai_device * by now. Therefore, remove all such indirections. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: embed dev_link_t into struct pcmcia_deviceDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Embed dev_link_t into struct pcmcia_device(), as they basically address the same entity. The actual contents of dev_link_t will be cleaned up step by step. This patch includes a bugfix from and signed-off-by Andrew Morton. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: rename pcmcia_device.stateDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Rename pcmcia_device.state (which is used in very few places) to p_state in order to avoid a namespace collision when moving the deprecated dev_link_t into struct pcmcia_device Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: remove unneeded Vcc pseudo settingDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As we do not allow setting Vcc in the pcmcia core, and Vpp1 and Vpp2 can only be set to the same value, a lot of code can be streamlined. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: remove export of pcmcia_release_configurationDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Handle the _modifying_ operation sm91c92_cs requires in pcmcia_modify_configuration, so that the only remaining users of pcmcia_release_configuration() are within the pcmcia core module. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: default suspend and resume handlingDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In all but one case, the suspend and resume functions of PCMCIA drivers contain mostly of calls to pcmcia_release_configuration() and pcmcia_request_configuration(). Therefore, move this code out of the drivers and into the core. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: convert remaining users of pcmcia_release_io and _irqDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Convert the remaining drivers which use pcmcia_release_io or pcmcia_release_irq, and remove the EXPORT of these symbols. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
| * [PATCH] pcmcia: add pcmcia_disable_deviceDominik Brodowski2006-03-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | pcmcia_disable_device(struct pcmcia_device *p_dev) performs the necessary cleanups upon device or driver removal: it calls the appropriate pcmcia_release_* functions, and can replace (most) of the current drivers' _release() functions.
