With port configured with PCR_FRM_SYNC_OUTPUT* and external clock, bringing
the hdlcX interface up and down without active clock supplied to the HSS
causes a TX lockup. We don't support channelized/partial interfaces so
FRaMe signals can't be used anyway, disabling them makes the lockup go away.
Changes to this logic will be required if we want to support channelized
HSS mode (this is most probably bug in NPE-A HSS firmware).

Instead of io_req_t, drivers are now requested to fill out
struct pcmcia_device *p_dev->resource[0,1] for up to two ioport
ranges. After a call to pcmcia_request_io(), the ports found there
are reserved, after calling pcmcia_request_configuration(), they may
be used.

This patch (as1388) changes the way the PCI core handles runtime PM
settings when probing or unbinding drivers. Now the core will make
sure the device is enabled for runtime PM, with a usage count >= 1,
when a driver is probed. It does the same when calling a driver's
remove method.
If the driver wants to use runtime PM, all it has to do is call
pm_runtime_pu_noidle() near the end of its probe routine (to cancel
the core's usage increment) and pm_runtime_get_noresume() near the
start of its remove routine (to restore the usage count). It does not
need to mess around with setting the runtime state to enabled,
disabled, active, or suspended.
The patch updates e1000e and r8169, the only PCI drivers that already
use the existing runtime PM interface.

This patch moves the declaration of of_get_address(), of_get_pci_address(),
and of_pci_address_to_resource() out of arch code and into the common
linux/of_address header file.
This patch also fixes some of the asm/prom.h ordering issues. It still
includes some header files that it ideally shouldn't be, but at least the
ordering is consistent now so that of_* overrides work.

Both of_bus_type and of_platform_bus_type are just #define aliases
for the platform bus. This patch removes all references to them and
switches to the of_register_platform_driver()/of_unregister_platform_driver()
API for registering.
Subsequent patches will convert each user of of_register_platform_driver()
into plain platform_drivers without the of_platform_driver shim. At which
point the of_register_platform_driver()/of_unregister_platform_driver()
functions can be removed.

Now that the device tree node pointer has been moved out of struct
of_device and into the common struct device, there isn't anything
unique about of_device anymore. In fact, there isn't much need
for a separate of_bus when all busses have access to OF style
probing.
arch/powerpc and arch/microblaze are moving away from using the of_bus
and using the regular platform bus instead for mmio devices. This
patch makes of_device the same as platform_device as a stepping stone
in migrating of_platform_drivers over to the platform bus.

This patch moves SPARC architecture specific data members out of
struct of_device and into the pdev_archdata structure. The reason
for this change is to unify the struct of_device definition amongst
all the architectures. It also remvoes the .sysdata, .slot, .portid
and .clock_freq properties because they aren't actually used by
anything.
A subsequent patch will replace struct of_device entirely with struct
platform_device and the of_platform support code will share common
routines with the platform bus (but the bus instances themselves can
remain separate).
This patch also adds 'struct resources *resource' and num_resources
to match the fields defined in struct platform_device. After this
change, 'struct platform_device' can be used as a drop-in replacement
for 'struct of_platform'.
This change is in preparation for merging the of_platform_bus_type
with the platform_bus_type.

The config options for REDWOOD_[456] were commented out in the powerpc
Kconfig. The ifdefs referencing this options therefore are dead and all
references to this can be removed (Also dependencies in other KConfig

au1000_eth uses firmware calls to get a valid MAC address, and changes
it depending on platform device id. This patch moves this logic out of
the driver into the platform device registration part, where boards with
supported chips can use whatever firmware interface they need; the default
implementation maintains compatibility with existing, YAMON-based firmware.

niu_get_ethtool_tcam_all() assumes that its output buffer is the right
size, and warns before returning if it is not. However, the output
buffer size is under user control and ETHTOOL_GRXCLSRLALL is an
unprivileged ethtool command. Therefore this is at least a local
denial-of-service vulnerability.
Change it to check before writing each entry and to return an error if
the buffer is already full.
Compile-tested only.

It causes all kinds of DMA API debugging assertions and
all straight-forward attempts to fix it have failed.
So turn off SG, and we'll tackle making this work
properly in net-next-2.6

This fixes a bug introduced in commit
de847272149365363a6043a963a6f42fb91566e2
"3c59x: Use fine-grained locks for MII and windowed register access".
vortex_interrupt() holds vp->window_lock over multiple register
accesses to reduce locking overhead. However it also needs to call
vortex_error() sometimes, and that uses the regular functions for
access to windowed registers, which will try to acquire window_lock
again.
Therefore, drop window_lock around the call to vortex_error() and set
the window afterward reacquiring the lock. Since vortex_error() may
call vortex_rx(), which *does* require its caller to hold window_lock,
lift that call up into vortex_interrupt(). This also removes the
potential for calling vortex_rx() on a later-generation NIC.

The time_before_eq()/time_after_eq() functions operate on unsigned
long and only work if the difference between the two compared values
is smaller than half the range of unsigned long (31 bits on i386).
Some of the variables (slave->jiffies, dev->trans_start, dev->last_rx)
used by bonding store a copy of jiffies and may not be updated for a
long time. With HZ=1000, time_before_eq()/time_after_eq() will start
giving bad results after ~25 days.
jiffies will never be before slave->jiffies, dev->trans_start,
dev->last_rx by more than possibly a couple ticks caused by preemption
of this code. This allows us to detect/prevent these overflows by
replacing time_before_eq()/time_after_eq() with time_in_range().

We cannot use spinlock when kmalloc is invoked with
GFP_KERNEL flag because it can sleep.
So this patch reviews the usage of spinlock within the
stmmac_resume function avoing this bug.

Async notifications other than link status are possible in certain
configurations. Remove the BUG_ON in the mcc completion processing path.

The ONLINE registers can return 0xFFFFFFFF on more than one
occassion. On systems that care, reading these registers could
lead to problems.
So the new code decides that the ASIC has encountered and error
by reading the UE_STATUS_LOW/HIGH registers. AND them with
the mask values and a non-zero result indicates an error.

Wrong packet statistics for multicast Rx was causing net-snmp error messages
every 15 seconds. Instead of picking the multicast stats from hardware,
now maintain it in the driver itself.
