* mwifiex: fix IRQ enable/disableDaniel Drake2013-07-22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | During tear down (e.g. mwifiex_sdio_remove during system suspend), mwifiex left IRQs enabled for a significant period of time when it was unable to handle them correctly. This caused interrupt storms and interfered with the bluetooth interface on the same SDIO card. Solve this by disabling interrupts at the point when they can no longer be handled correctly, which is at the start of mwifiex_remove_card(). For cleanliness, we now enable interrupts in the mwifiex_add_card() path, to be symmetrical with the disabling of interrupts. We also couple the registration of the sdio IRQ handler with the actual enable/disable of interrupts at the hardware level. I also removed a write to this register in mwifiex_init_sdio which seemed pointless and won't cause any ill effects now that we only register the SDIO IRQ handler when we are ready to accept interrupts. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some of the key differences between SD8897 and older chipsets are as follows: a) sdio mpa_rx and mpa_tx ports have been increased from 16 to 32 b) Same is the case with read/write bitmap that one receives from mpa_reg read c) aggregation packet count doubled from 8 to 16 d) Most of key reg addresses are changed e) There is a separate command or control port f) Now command rx/tx_done have new interrupts 1. 'supports_sdio_new_mode' flag is added to handle (a) and (b). 2. (c) and (d) are taken care of by filling chip specific information in global structurei (mwifiex_sdio_sd8897). 3. For older chipsets, port 0 was cmd port and port 1->15 were data port. Therefore we had CTRL_PORT_MASK to differentiate port type. Now these changes are under 'has_control_mask' flag. User is unable to reload the driver in this case. Inspired by 9a821f5 "libertas: add sd8686 reset_card support", this patch adds card reset support for SDIO interface when command timeout happens. If the SDIO host contoller supports MMC_POWER_OFF|UP|ON operations, the chip will be reset and the firmware will be re-downloaded. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While decoding received event packet from firmware, 4 bytes of interface header are already removed unconditionally. So for handling event only 4 more bytes needs to be pulled. This is achieved by changing event header length to 4. Almost all the events, except BA stream related and AMSDU aggregation control events, do not have the payload in their event skb. Such events handling depends only on the event ID. This event ID is the first four bytes of the event skb, which is copied to a separate variable before pulling the skb header. Hence event handling worked only for those events that didn't have payload in event skb. This patch fixes the broken event path of the events with payload in their event skb without harming existing working event path for the events without payload.
