* iwlwifi: mvm: Always enable the smart FIFOEran Harary2015-03-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | We previously enabled the smart FIFO (SF) in BSS only after association. This cause interrupt latency on P2P on certain devices. Change the working model to enable the SF all the time and play with the timeout values based on the association state. This change was not tested on older firwmares, so make it happen only on -13.ucode and up. * iwlwifi: mvm: allow preventing dummy notificationsEran Harary2014-09-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | The firwmare now allows the driver to disable dummy notifications. These notifications sent by the firmware are an overhead for slow buses. They are still useful for fast buses. Add a hardware switch to prevent these notifications only on devices that work on slow buses. | * iwlwifi: mvm: fix endianity issues with Smart Fifo commandsEmmanuel Grumbach2014-09-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This code was broken on big endian systems. Sparse didn't catch the bug since the firmware command was not tagged as little endian. Fix the bug for big endian systems and tag the field in the firmware command to prevent such issues in the future. | * iwlwifi: mvm: deprecate -7 firmwareEmmanuel Grumbach2014-04-13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This firmware is not supported any more. A few code paths specific to old firmware can be removed. We can now assume that a few TLV flags are always set since we won't load firmware that didn't support the corresponding features. This will be done in a separate patch. * | iwlwifi: mvm: delay enabling smart FIFO until after beacon RXJohannes Berg2014-04-13
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If we have no beacon data before association, delay smart FIFO enablement until after we have this data. Not doing so can cause association failures in extremely silent environments (usually only a shielded box/room) as beacon RX is not sent to the host immediately, and then the association time event ends without the host receiving any beacon even though it was on the air - it's just stuck on the FIFO. * iwlwifi: mvm: Add Smart FIFO supportLilach Edelstein2013-12-17
Send firmware a Smart FIFO Configuration host command to allow interrupt coalescing. The smart FIFO is enabled when there is only one bound interface (other than p2p devices which are ignored) and it is of type station, and activated while the station is associated. Smart Fifo allows aggragations of DMA transactions and by that causes processor and memory controller to stay for a longer time on lower c-states, thus saving platform power. Firmware relies on driver to activate and disable it. Signed-off-by: Lilach Edelstein <lilach.edelstein@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
