* net: remove unnecessary NET_ADDR_RANDOM "bitclean"Jiri Pirko2013-01-04
| | | | | | | | NET_ADDR_SET is set in dev_set_mac_address() no need to alter dev->addr_assign_type value in drivers. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* tilegx: request_irq with a non-null device nameSimon Marchi2012-11-16
| | | | | | | | | | This patch simply makes the tilegx net driver call request_irq with a non-null name. It makes the output in /proc/interrupts more obvious, but also helps tools that don't expect to find null there. Signed-off-by: Simon Marchi <simon.marchi@polymtl.ca> Acked-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* tilegx: fix some issues in the SW TSO supportChris Metcalf2012-10-26
| | | | | | | | | | This change correctly computes the header length and data length in the fragments to avoid a bug where we would end up with extremely slow performance. Also adopt use of skb_frag_size() accessor. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org [v3.6] Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* tilegx net: use eth_hw_addr_random(), not eth_random_addr()Chris Metcalf2012-07-18
| | | | Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
* tilegx net driver: handle payload data not in fragsChris Metcalf2012-07-18
| | | | | | | | | | The original driver implementation assumed that for TSO, all the payload data would be in the frags. This isn't always true; change the driver to support payload data at skb->data between "skb_transport_offset(skb) + tcp_hdrlen(skb)" and "skb->hdr_len", followed by the data in the frags. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
* net: tilegx driver bugfix (be explicit about percpu queue number)Chris Metcalf2012-07-18
| | | | | | Avoid packets belonging to queue/cpu A trying to transmit on cpu B. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
* ethernet: Use eth_random_addrJoe Perches2012-07-17
| | | | | | | | Convert the existing uses of random_ether_addr to the new eth_random_addr. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* tilegx network driver: initial supportChris Metcalf2012-06-11
| | | | | | | | | This change adds support for the tilegx network driver based on the GXIO IORPC support in the tilegx software stack, using the on-chip mPIPE packet processing engine. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* drivers/net: Convert compare_ether_addr to ether_addr_equalJoe Perches2012-05-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use the new bool function ether_addr_equal to add some clarity and reduce the likelihood for misuse of compare_ether_addr for sorting. * drivers/net/ethernet/tile: fix netdev_alloc_skb() bombingChris Metcalf2012-04-02
| | | | | | | | | Commit dae2e9f430c46c29e3f771110094bd3da3625aa4 changed dev_alloc_skb() to netdev_alloc_skb(), adding a dev pointer, but erroneously used "->" instead of "." for a struct member when accessing the dev pointer. This change fixes the build breakage. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
* tilepro ethernet driver: fix a few minor issuesChris Metcalf2012-04-02
| | | | | | | | | | This commit fixes a number of issues seen with the driver: - Improve handling of return credits to the hardware shim - Use skb_frag_size() appropriately - Fix driver so it works properly with netpoll for console over UDP Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
* ethernet: unify return value of .ndo_set_mac_address if address is invalidDanny Kukawka2012-02-23
| | | | | | | | | Unify return value of .ndo_set_mac_address if the given address isn't valid. Return -EADDRNOTAVAIL as eth_mac_addr() already does if is_valid_ether_addr() fails. Signed-off-by: Danny Kukawka <danny.kukawka@bisect.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: use eth_hw_addr_random() and reset addr_assign_typeDanny Kukawka2012-02-15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Use eth_hw_addr_random() instead of calling random_ether_addr() to set addr_assign_type correctly to NET_ADDR_RANDOM. Reset the state to NET_ADDR_PERM as soon as the MAC get changed via .ndo_set_mac_address. v2: adapt to renamed eth_hw_addr_random() Signed-off-by: Danny Kukawka <danny.kukawka@bisect.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: ethernet dev_alloc_skb to netdev_alloc_skbPradeep A. Dalvi2012-02-08

| * arch/tile: use new generic {enable,disable}_percpu_irq() routinesChris Metcalf2011-12-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We provided very similar routines internally, but now we can hook into the generic framework by supplying our routines as function pointers in the irq_chip structure instead. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
| * drivers/net/ethernet/tile: use skb_frag_page() APIChris Metcalf2011-12-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This replaces raw access to the "page" field of the skb_frag_t. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
