* | qlcnic: Register netdev in FAILED state for 83xx/84xxSucheta Chakraborty2013-11-04
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | o Without failing probe, register netdev when device is in FAILED state. o Device will come up with minimum functionality and allow diagnostics and repair of the adapter. |\ \ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/emulex/benet/be.h drivers/net/netconsole.c net/bridge/br_private.h Three mostly trivial conflicts. The net/bridge/br_private.h conflict was a function signature (argument addition) change overlapping with the extern removals from Joe Perches. In drivers/net/netconsole.c we had one change adjusting a printk message whilst another changed "printk(KERN_INFO" into "pr_info(". Lastly, the emulex change was a new inline function addition overlapping with Joe Perches's extern removals. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | qlcnic: Do not read QLCNIC_FW_CAPABILITY_MORE_CAPS bit for 83xx adapterShahed Shaikh2013-10-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Only 82xx adapter advertises QLCNIC_FW_CAPABILITY_MORE_CAPS bit. Reading this bit from 83xx adapter causes the driver to skip extra capabilities registers. Because of this, driver was not issuing qlcnic_fw_cmd_set_drv_version() for 83xx adapter. This bug was introduced in commit 8af3f33db05c6d0146ad14905145a5c923770856 ("qlcnic: Add support for 'set driver version' in 83XX"). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit 82dc3c63 ("net: introduce NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT") netif_napi_add() produces an error message if a NAPI poll weight greater than 64 is requested. qlcnic requests the weight as large as 256 for some of its rings, and smaller values for other rings. For instance in qlcnic_82xx_napi_add() I think the intention was to give the tx+rx ring a bigger weight than to rx-only rings, but it's actually doing the opposite. So I'm assuming the weights do not really matter much. Just use the standard NAPI weights for all rings. * | | qlcnic: Enhance PVID handling for 84xx adaptersManish Chopra2013-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | o PF driver should not indicate PVID configuration to VF driver. As adapter supports VLAN stripping, VF driver should stay agnostic to any PVID configuration. o Return "QLC_NO_VLAN_MODE(= 0)" to VFD when PVID is configured. VF driver should be in no VLAN configuration mode. Signed-off-by: Manish Chopra <manish.chopra@qlogic.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | | drivers:net: Convert dma_alloc_coherent(...__GFP_ZERO) to dma_zalloc_coherentJoe Perches2013-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | __GFP_ZERO is an uncommon flag and perhaps is better not used. static inline dma_zalloc_coherent exists so convert the uses of dma_alloc_coherent with __GFP_ZERO to the more common kernel style with zalloc. Remove memset from the static inline dma_zalloc_coherent and add just one use of __GFP_ZERO instead. Trivially reduces the size of the existing uses of dma_zalloc_coherent. Realign arguments as appropriate.
