| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is necessary to ensure that worker-threads accessing the device are stopped before our disconnect handler returns. This causes a problem with stream_off calling sd_stop0 a second time when the device handle is closed. This is fixed by setting gscpa_dev->streaming to 0 on disconnect. Note that now stream_off will never be called on a disconnected device, and the present check can thus be removed from stream_off. * [media] gspca: Fix locking issues related to suspend/resumeHans Verkuil2012-05-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are two bugs here: first the calls to stop0 (in gspca_suspend) and gspca_init_transfer (in gspca_resume) need to be called with the usb_lock held. That's true for the other places they are called and it is what subdrivers expect. Quite a few will unlock the usb_lock in stop0 while waiting for a worker thread to finish, and if usb_lock isn't held then that can cause a kernel oops. The other problem is that a worker thread needs to detect that it has to halt due to a suspend. Otherwise it will just go on looping. So add tests against gspca_dev->frozen in the worker threads that need it. Hdg, 2 minor changes: 1) The finepix device is ok with stopping reading a frame halfway through, so add frozen checks in all places where we also check if we're still streaming 2) Use gspca_dev->dev instead of gspca_dev->present to check for disconnect in all touched drivers. I plan to do this everywhere in the future, and most relevant lines in the touched drivers are already modified by this patch. This patch adds a flag to sd_desc, which drivers for such cameras can set. When this flag is set the bandwidth calculation code will no longer assume that the image buffer size is a worst case and less bandwidth than imagebufsize * fps will be used on average. This patch sets this new flag for 3 drivers: * For spca561 (for rev12a cameras) and nw80x cams as these simply don't work when given less bandwidth than imagebufsize * fps. * For sn9c20x cameras, because these show severy jpeg artifacts when given less bandwidth than imagebufsize * fps and since these are usb2 cameras there is plenty bandwidth anyways. Nor would the memory type be set to GSPCA_MEMORY_NO on device close, as capture_file already is NULL on device close because of the reqbufs 0. This caused the following problem: -app1 does reqbufs USERPTR for 4 buffers -app1 does reqbufs USERPTR for 0 buffers -app2 tries to do reqbufs MMAP for 4 buffers fails because gspca_dev->memory still is USERPTR Fixing this also allows an app to switch memory type's by unrequesting the buffers and re-requesting them of a different type. This patch also moves the setting of gspca_dev->frsz and gscpa_dev->memory to after alloc_frame succeeding, so that they are not changed when allocating fails. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Before this patch vidioc_dqbuf is using its own read_lock, where as other queue related functions use queue_lock. This means that dqbuf is accessing several variables in a racy manor. The most important one being fr_o, which may be changed from underneath dqbuf by vidioc_reqbufs or vidioc_streamoff. Other variables which it accesses unprotected are gspca_dev->memory, gspca_dev->streaming and gspca_dev->capt_file. This patch fixes this by changing vidioc_dqbuf to also use the queue_lock.
