* hwmon: (lm75) sensor reading bugfixDavid Brownell2008-06-19
| | | | | | | | | | LM75 sensor reading bugfix: never save error status as valid sensor output. This could be improved, but at least this prevents certain rude failure modes. Signed-off-by: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Acked-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Mark M. Hoffman <mhoffman@lightlink.com>
* hwmon: (abituguru3) update driver detectionHans de Goede2008-06-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | It has been reported that the abituguru3 driver fails to load after a BIOS update. This patch fixes this by loosening the detection routine so that it will work after the BIOS update too. To compensate for the now very loose detection an additional check is added on the DMI Base Board vendor string to make sure we only load on Abit motherboards, this is the same as the check in the abituguru (1 / 2) driver. * hwmon: (abituguru3) Identify Abit AW8D board as suchHans de Goede2008-06-19
| | | | | | | | | This patch identifies the Abit AW8D board as such, and adds support for its aux5 fan connector Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <j.w.r.degoede@hhs.nl> Acked-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Mark M. Hoffman <mhoffman@lightlink.com>
* hwmon: (adt7473) Initialize max_duty_at_overheat before useJean Delvare2008-06-19
| | | | | | | | | | data->max_duty_at_overheat is not updated in adt7473_update_device, so it might be used before it is initialized (if the user reads from sysfs file max_duty_at_crit before writing to it.) * hwmon: (lm85) Fix function RANGE_TO_REG()Jean Delvare2008-06-19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Function RANGE_TO_REG() is broken. For a requested range of 2000 (2 degrees C), it will return an index value of 15, i.e. 80.0 degrees C, instead of the expected index value of 0. All other values are handled properly, just 2000 isn't. The bug was introduced back in November 2004 by this patch: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/tglx/history.git;a=commit;h=1c28d80f1992240373099d863e4996cdd5d646d0 While this can be fixed easily with the current code, I'd rather rewrite the whole function in a way which is more obviously correct. I2C transactions aren't cheap so this speeds up the driver loading. * Only create the "vrm" attribute if at least one VID value is available. * | | i2c: Convert most new-style drivers to use module aliasingJean Delvare2008-04-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich. Update most new-style i2c drivers to use standard module aliasing instead of the old driver_name/type driver matching scheme. I've left the video drivers apart (except for SoC camera drivers) as they're a bit more diffcult to deal with, they'll have their own patch later. |/ / | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich. This patch allows new-style i2c chip drivers to have alias names using the official kernel aliasing system and MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE(). At this point, the old i2c driver binding scheme (driver_name/type) is still supported. * | hwmon: (w83781d) Fix I/O resource conflict with PNPJean Delvare2008-03-27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Only request I/O ports 0x295-0x296 instead of the full I/O address range. This solves a conflict with PNP resources on a few motherboards. Also request the I/O ports in two parts (4 low ports, 4 high ports) during device detection, otherwise the PNP resource makes the request (and thus the detection) fail.
