* ACPICA: Update all ACPICA copyrights and signons to 2010Bob Moore2010-01-22
| | | | | | | | | | Add 2010 copyright to all module headers and signons, including the Linux header. This affects virtually every file in the ACPICA core subsystem, iASL compiler, and all utilities. * ACPICA: acpi_reset: Bypass port validation mechanismBob Moore2009-08-28
| | | | | | | | | Allow writes to reserved ports. This change may eventually be driven down in to acpi_write and acpi_read. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Add 64-bit support to acpi_read and acpi_writeBob Moore2009-08-27
| | | | | | | | | | | Needed by drivers for new ACPi tables. Internal versions of these functions still use 32-bit max transfers, in order to minimize disruption and stack use for the standard ACPI registers (FADT-based). * ACPICA: New: I/O port protectionBob Moore2009-03-27
| | | | | | | | | Protect certain I/O ports from reads/writes. Provides MS compatibility. New module, hwvalid.c Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Formatting update - no functional changesBob Moore2009-03-27
| | | | | | | | Split long lines, update comments. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Restructure bit register access functionsBob Moore2009-03-26
| | | | | | | | | Update code for acpi_read_bit_register and acpi_write_bit_register. Simplified code path, condensed duplicate code. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Rename ACPI bit register access functionsBob Moore2009-03-26
| | | | | | | | | | Rename acpi_get_register and acpi_set_register to clarify the purpose of these functions. New names are acpi_read_bit_register and acpi_write_bit_register. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
* ACPICA: Optimize ACPI register lockingBob Moore2009-03-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Removed locking for reads from the ACPI bit registers in PM1 Status, Enable, Control, and PM2 Control. The lock is not required when reading the single-bit registers. The acpi_get_register_unlocked function is no longer needed and has been removed. This will improve performance for reads on these registers. * ACPICA: Remove ACPI_GET_OBJECT_TYPE macroBob Moore2009-03-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | Remove all instances of this obsolete macro, since it is now a simple reference to ->common.type. There were about 150 invocations of the macro across 41 files. * ACPICA: Fix parameter validation for acpi_read/writeBob Moore2009-03-26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now return AE_BAD_PARAMETER if the input register pointer is null, and AE_BAD_ADDRESS if the register has an address of zero. Previously, these cases simply returned AE_OK. For optional registers such as PM1B status/enable/control, the caller should check for a valid register address before calling.
