The ath9k Kconfig conflict was a change of a Kconfig option name right
next to the deletion of another option.
The xen-netback conflict was overlapping changes involving the
handling of the notify list in xen_netbk_rx_action().
Batman conflict resolution provided by Antonio Quartulli, basically
keep everything in both conflict hunks.
The nl80211 conflict is a little more involved. In 'net' we added a
dynamic memory allocation to nl80211_dump_wiphy() to fix a race that
Linus reported. Meanwhile in 'net-next' the handlers were converted
to use pre and post doit handlers which use a flag to determine
whether to hold the RTNL mutex around the operation.
However, the dump handlers to not use this logic. Instead they have
to explicitly do the locking. There were apparent bugs in the
conversion of nl80211_dump_wiphy() in that we were not dropping the
RTNL mutex in all the return paths, and it seems we very much should
be doing so. So I fixed that whilst handling the overlapping changes.
To simplify the initial returns, I take the RTNL mutex after we try
to allocate 'tb'.

This patch adds support for the Broadcom BCM6345 SoC Ethernet. BCM6345
has a slightly different and older DMA engine which requires the
following modifications:
- the width of the DMA channels on BCM6345 is 64 bytes vs 16 bytes,
which means that the helpers enet_dma{c,s} need to account for this
channel width and we can no longer use macros
- BCM6345 DMA engine does not have any internal SRAM for transfering
buffers
- BCM6345 buffer allocation and flow control is not per-channel but
global (done in RSET_ENETDMA)
- the DMA engine bits are right-shifted by 3 compared to other DMA
generations
- the DMA enable/interrupt masks are a little different (we need to
enabled more bits for 6345)
- some register have the same meaning but are offsetted in the ENET_DMAC
space so a lookup table is required to return the proper offset
The MAC itself is identical and requires no modifications to work.

Newer Broadcom BCM63xx SoCs: 6328, 6362 and 6368 have an integrated switch
which needs to be driven slightly differently from the traditional
external switches. This patch introduces changes in arch/mips/bcm63xx in order
to:
- register a bcm63xx_enetsw driver instead of bcm63xx_enet driver
- update DMA channels configuration & state RAM base addresses
- add a new platform data configuration knob to define the number of
ports per switch/device and force link on some ports
- define the required switch registers
On the driver side, the following changes are required:
- the switch ports need to be polled to ensure the link is up and
running and RX/TX can properly work
- basic switch configuration needs to be performed for the switch to
forward packets to the CPU
- update the MIB counters since the integrated

The current bcm63xx_enet driver always uses bcmenet_shared_base whenever
it needs to access DMA channel configuration space or access the DMA
channel state RAM. Split these register in 3 parts to be more accurate:
- global DMA configuration
- per DMA channel configuration space
- per DMA channel state RAM space
This is preliminary to support new chips where the global DMA
configuration remains the same, but there is a varying number of DMA
channels located at a different memory offset.

that will build on top of them.
This merge commit includes a change from Emil Goode
(emilgoode@gmail.com) that fixes a warning that would
have been introduced by this merge. Specifically it
fixes the pingv6_ops method ipv6_chk_addr() to add a
"const" to the "struct net_device *dev" argument and
likewise update the dummy_ipv6_chk_addr() declaration.

This patch removes the Kconfig symbol HAVE_CAN_FLEXCAN from arch/{arm,powerpc}
and allowing compilation unconditionally on all arm and powerpc platforms.
This brings a bigger compile time coverage and removes the following dependency
warning found by Arnd Bergmann:

So far, only net_device * could be passed along with netdevice notifier
event. This patch provides a possibility to pass custom structure

hpa bringed into my attention some security related issues
with BPF JIT on x86.
This patch makes sure the bpf generated code is marked read only,
as other kernel text sections.
It also splits the unused space (we vmalloc() and only use a fraction of
the page) in two parts, so that the generated bpf code not starts at a
known offset in the page, but a pseudo random one.

Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie:
"Okay this is the big one, I was stalled on the fbdev pull req as I
stupidly let fbdev guys merge a patch I required to fix a warning with
some patches I had, they ended up merging the patch from the wrong
place, but the warning should be fixed. In future I'll just take the
patch myself!
Outside drm:
There are some snd changes for the HDMI audio interactions on haswell,
they've been acked for inclusion via my tree. This relies on the
wound/wait tree from Ingo which is already merged.
Major changes:
AMD finally released the dynamic power management code for all their
GPUs from r600->present day, this is great, off by default for now but
also a huge amount of code, in fact it is most of this pull request.
Since it landed there has been a lot of community testing and Alex has
sent a lot of fixes for any bugs found so far. I suspect radeon might
now be the biggest kernel driver ever :-P p.s. radeon.dpm=1 to enable
dynamic powermanagement for anyone.
New drivers:
Renesas r-car display unit.
Other highlights:

This patch renames the combatible strings for hdmi, mixer, ddc
and hdmiphy. It follows the convention of using compatible string
which represent the SoC in which the IP was added for the first
time.

Several drivers currently use mtrr_add through various #ifdef guards
and/or drm wrappers. The vast majority of them want to add WC MTRRs
on x86 systems and don't actually need the MTRR if PAT (i.e.
ioremap_wc, etc) are working.
arch_phys_wc_add and arch_phys_wc_del are new functions, available
on all architectures and configurations, that add WC MTRRs on x86 if
needed (and handle errors) and do nothing at all otherwise. They're
also easier to use than mtrr_add and mtrr_del, so the call sites can
be simplified.
As an added benefit, this will avoid wasting MTRRs and possibly
warning pointlessly on PAT-supporting systems.

flush_ptrace_hw_breakpoint() destroys the counters set by ptrace, but
"leaks" ->debugreg6 and ->ptrace_dr7.
The problem is minor, but still it doesn't look right and flush_thread()
did this until commit 66cb59172959 ("hw-breakpoints: use the new wrapper
routines to access debug registers in process/thread code"). Now that
PTRACE_DETACH does flush_ too this makes even more sense.

ptrace_set_debugreg() is trivial but looks horrible. Kill the unnecessary
goto's and return's to cleanup the code.
This matches ptrace_get_debugreg() which also needs the trivial whitespace
cleanups.

Commit 24f1e32c60c4 ("hw-breakpoints: Rewrite the hw-breakpoints layer
on top of perf events") introduced the minor regression. Before this
commit
PTRACE_POKEUSER DR7, enableDR0
PTRACE_POKEUSER DR0, address
was perfectly valid, now PTRACE_POKEUSER(DR7) fails if DR0 was not
previously initialized by PTRACE_POKEUSER(DR0).
Change ptrace_write_dr7() to do ptrace_register_breakpoint(addr => 0) if
!bp && !disabled.
This fixes watchpoint-zeroaddr from ptrace-tests, see

No functional changes, preparation.
Extract the "register breakpoint" code from ptrace_get_debugreg() into
the new/generic helper, ptrace_register_breakpoint(). It will have more
users.
The patch also adds another simple helper, ptrace_fill_bp_fields(), to
factor out the arch_bp_generic_fields() logic in register/modify.

ptrace_write_dr7() skips ptrace_modify_breakpoint(disabled => true)
unless second_pass, this buys nothing but complicates the code and means
that we always do the main loop twice even if "disabled" was never true.
The comment says:
Don't unregister the breakpoints right-away,
unless all register_user_hw_breakpoint()
requests have succeeded.
Firstly, we do not do register_user_hw_breakpoint(), it was removed by
commit 24f1e32c60c4 ("hw-breakpoints: Rewrite the hw-breakpoints layer
on top of perf events").
We are going to restore register_user_hw_breakpoint() (see the next
patch) but this doesn't matter: after commit 44234adcdce3
("hw-breakpoints: Modify breakpoints without unregistering them")
perf_event_disable() can not hurt, hw_breakpoint_del() does not free the
slot.
Remove the "second_pass" check from the main loop and simplify the code.
Since we have to check "bp != NULL" anyway, the patch also removes the
same check in ptrace_modify_breakpoint() and moves the comment into
ptrace_write_dr7().
With this patch the second pass is only needed to restore the saved
old_dr7. This should never fail, so the patch adds WARN_ON() to catch
the potential problems as Frederic suggested.

ptrace_write_dr7() looks unnecessarily overcomplicated. We can factor
out ptrace_modify_breakpoint() and do not do "continue" twice, just we
need to pass the proper "disabled" argument to
ptrace_modify_breakpoint().

ptrace breakpoints").
The patch was fine but we can no longer race with SIGKILL after commit
9899d11f6544 ("ptrace: ensure arch_ptrace/ptrace_request can never race
with SIGKILL"), the __TASK_TRACED tracee can't be woken up and
->ptrace_bps[] can't go away.
