Added callback registration for package threshold reports. Also added
a callback to check the rate control implemented in callback or not.
If there is no rate control implemented, then there is a default rate
control similar to core threshold notification by delaying for
CHECK_INTERVAL (5 minutes) between reports.

Some userspaces do not preserve unusable property. Since usable
segment has to be present according to VMX spec we can use present
property to amend userspace bug by making unusable segment always
nonpresent. vmx_segment_access_rights() already marks nonpresent segment
as unusable.

Commit e4c6bfd2d79d063017ab19a18915f0bc759f32d9 ("mm: rearrange
vm_area_struct for fewer cache misses") changed the layout of the
vm_area_struct structure, it broke several SPARC32 assembly routines
which used numerical constants for accessing the vm_mm field.
This patch defines the VMA_VM_MM constant to replace the immediate values.

For the related next strcpy(), the destination length is less than 512,
but the source maximize length may be 'OPROMMAXPARAM' (4096) which is
more than 512.
One work flow may:
openprom_sunos_ioctl() -> if (cmd == OPROMSETOPT)
getstrings() -> will alloc buffer with size 'OPROMMAXPARAM'.
opromsetopt() -> devide the buffer into 'var' and 'value'
of_set_property() -> pass
prom_setprop() -> pass
ldom_set_var()
And do not mind the additional 4 alignment buffer increasing, since
'sizeof(pkt) - sizeof(pkt.header)' is 4 alignment at least.

This patch modifies the platform data of max8998 to use arrays for
specifying predefined voltages of buck1 and buck2 instead of separate
field for each voltage.
This allows to simplify the code a bit and will help in adding support
for Device Tree, which will be introduced in further patch.

A complete refurbished series inclunding:
- DT support for the MFD, TSC and ADC driver & platform device support,
which has no users, has been killed.
- iio_map from last series is gone and replaced by proper nodes in the
device tree.
- suspend fixes which means correct data structs are taken and no
interrupt storm
- fifo split which should problem with TSC & ADC beeing used at the same
time
- The ADC channels are now checked before blindly applied. That means the
touch part reads X, Y and Z coordinates and does not mix them up. Same

- The IIO ADC driver now creates files named in_voltageX_raw where X
represents the ADC line instead of a number starting at 0. A read from

The TSC part allows to specify the input lines. The IIO part assumes
that it usues always the last few, that means if IIO has adc-channels
set to 2 it will use channel 6 and 7. However it might make sense to use
only 6.
This patch changes the device property (which was introduced recently
and was never in an official release) in a way that the user can specify
which of the AIN lines should be used. In Addition to this, the name is
now AINx where x is the channel number i.e. for AIN6 we would have 6.
Prior this, it always started counting at 0 which is confusing. In
addition to this, it also checks for correct step number during reading
and does not rely on proper FIFO depth.

Reschedule vector tracepoints may be called in cpu idle state.
This causes lockdep check warning below.
The tracepoint requires rcu but for accuracy it also
requires irq_enter() (tracepoints record the irq context), thus,
the tracepoint interrupt handler should be calling irq_enter()
and not rcu_irq_enter() (irq_enter() calls rcu_irq_enter()).
So, add irq_enter/exit() to smp_trace_reschedule_interrupt()
with common pre/post processing functions, smp_entering_irq()
and exiting_irq() (exiting_irq() calls just irq_exit()
in arch/x86/include/asm/apic.h),
because these can be shared among reschedule, call_function,
and call_function_single vectors.

In csum_tcpudp_nofold, add 1 if the carry bit is set after adding the
destination IP address (32 bits) to the checksum (16 bits).
The lack of carry handling for this particular addition meant that a
destination address of *.*.255.255 (e.g. certain broadcasts) sometimes
resulted in an incorrect checksum. This bug has been present in the Meta
port since the code was written in the 2.4 days.

Reason for this crash is a gcc miscompilation in the fault handlers of
pa_memcpy() which return the fault address instead of the copied bytes.
Since this seems to be a generic problem with gcc-4.7.x (and below), it's
better to simplify the fault handlers in pa_memcpy to avoid this problem.
Here is a simple reproducer for the problem:

implicit assumption that certain variables will contain correct values
when an exception occurs and the code randomly jumps to one of the

I still see the occasional random segv on rp3440. Looking at one of
these (a code 15), it appeared the problem must be with the cache
handling of anonymous pages. Reviewing this, I noticed that the space
register %sr1 might be being clobbered when we flush an anonymous page.
Register %sr1 is used for TLB purges in a couple of places. These
purges are needed on PA8800 and PA8900 processors to ensure cache
consistency of flushed cache lines.
The solution here is simply to move the %sr1 load into the TLB lock
region needed to ensure that one purge executes at a time on SMP
systems. This was already the case for one use. After a few days of
operation, I haven't had a random segv on my rp3440.

The latest PA-RISC Boot Loader (palo) allows loading of gzip compressed
vmlinuz kernels. So let's now switch to build a vmlinuz file when we
build a palo boot image.

The GRE conflict is between a bug fix (kfree_skb --> kfree_skb_list)
and the splitting of the gre.c code into seperate files.
The FEC conflict was two sets of changes adding ethtool support code
in an "!CONFIG_M5272" CPP protected block.
Finally the sh_eth.c conflict was between one commit add bits set
in the .eesr_err_check mask whilst another commit removed the
.tx_error_check member and assignments.

Instead of using a GPIO to turn on/off the CAN transceiver, it is better to
use a regulator as some systems may use a PMIC to power the CAN transceiver.

As there are no imx in-tree users of flexcan_platform_data, this patch removes
the possibility to register a flexcan device with platform data.
The functionality to swith on/off CAN transceivers is added to DT via
regulators in a later patch.
Compile time tested with imx_v4_v5_defconfig and imx_v6_v7_defconfig.

ETRAX_ETHERNET selects ETHERNET and MII, which depend on NETDEVICES.
I don't think anything should select NETDEVICES, so make it a
dependency. It also doesn't need to select or depend on ETHERNET,
which has nothing to do with the Ethernet library functions.
BPCTL selects MII, which depends on NETDEVICES. But everything in the
drivers/staging/silicom directory is related to net devices, so make
NET_VENDOR_SILICOM depend on NETDEVICES and remove the now-redundant
dependencies on NET.

All drivers that select MII also need to select NET_CORE because MII
depends on it. This is a bit ridiculous because NET_CORE is just a
menu option that doesn't enable any code by itself.
There is also no need for it to be a visible option, since its users
all select it.
