| * sparc32: Use PROM device probing for sun4m timer registers.David S. Miller2008-09-14
| | | | | | | | Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc64: Fix sparse warnings in fault.cDavid S. Miller2008-09-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1) set_brkpt() is referenced by nothing and hasn't been used by anyone to my knowledge for many many years. So just delete it. 2) add extern decl for do_sparc64_fault() in asm/pgtable_64.h Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc64: Fix sparse warnings in visemul.cDavid S. Miller2008-09-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1) edge8 tables should be static 2) add vis_emul() extern decl. to asm/visasm.h Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc64: Define WANT_PAGE_VIRTUALDavid S. Miller2008-09-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As sparse warns, without this struct page pointer subtraction is extremely expensive, and this is a pretty common operation in fast paths. With this define struct page becomes 64 bytes which makes for a simple subtract and shift, instead of a costly divide or reciprocol multiply. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sysctl: Use header file for sysctl knob declarations on sparc.David S. Miller2008-09-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This also takes care of a sparse warning as scons_pwroff's definition point. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc64: Fix sparse warnings in global reg snapshotting.David S. Miller2008-09-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Lots of shadowed local variables and global_reg_snapshot[] needs an extern declaration in asm/ptrace_64.h. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc64: Get rid of pci_controller_info.David S. Miller2008-09-11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It is just used as a parent to encapsulate two PBM objects. But that layout is only really relevant and necessary for psycho PCI controllers, which unlike all the others share a single IOMMU instance between sibling PCI busses. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc: remove unused includesBjoern B. Brandenburg2008-09-09
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The spinlock code does not use NR_CPUS. Compile tested using allyesconfig and allnoconfig. Signed-off-by: Bjoern B. Brandenburg <bbb@cs.unc.edu> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * sparc32: Move sun4d show_leds() out of asm/obio.hDavid S. Miller2008-09-08
| | | | | | | | | | | | Put it, as well as cpu_leds[] array, into sun4d_irq.c Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

| * | sparc64: Implement SSTATE purely using notifiers and initcalls.David S. Miller2008-09-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Don't clutter up the tree with sstate_blah() scattered all over the place. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Move reboot handling into seperate file and kill power reg programming.David S. Miller2008-09-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We should always use prom_power_off(). Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Clean up CPU chip type probing code.David S. Miller2008-09-01
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Three main things: 1) Make prober an arch initcall instead of using hard-coded invocation from paging_init() 2) Shrink table size, the fpu ident stuff was never used. 3) Use named struct initialized in table. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: remove CONFIG_SUN4Adrian Bunk2008-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While doing some easy cleanups on the sparc code I noticed that the CONFIG_SUN4 code seems to be worse than the rest - there were some "I don't know how it should work, but the current code definitely cannot work." places. And while I have seen people running Linux on machines like a SPARCstation 5 a few years ago I don't recall having seen sun4 machines, even less ones running Linux. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Rewrite central driver.David S. Miller2008-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This driver is now limited to just doing the basic clock board and FHC chip initialization and registering the platform devices for the per-board LEDs, which are driven by the new LEDS_STARFIRE driver. The IRQ register handling is already confined purely to the device tree code. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Delete starfire_cpu_setup().David S. Miller2008-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It does nothing. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Annotate of_device_id arrays with const or __initdata.David S. Miller2008-08-31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As suggested by Stephen Rothwell. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill ebus_bus_type.David S. Miller2008-08-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No longer used. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill EBUS driver layer.David S. Miller2008-08-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | All that remains is the EBUS DMA programming library for sparc64. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Convert EBUS floppy support to pure OF driver.David S. Miller2008-08-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Move EBUS DMA interfaces into seperate header file.David S. Miller2008-08-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These have no dependencies on the EBUS probing layer, the clients setup the registers and all of those details. The EBUS DMA layer just programs and manages the DMA controller found in EBUS. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Use generic CMOS driver.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Based largely upon a patch by Krzysztof Helt <krzysztof.h1@poczta.fm> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: asm/mostek.h is now 32-bit onlyDavid S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No need for the 64-bit header version any more. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Delete asm/sbus*.hDavid S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No longer used. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill now spurious includes of sbus.hDavid S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In order to make this week I also had to add an include of linux/dma-mapping.h to asm/pci_32.h because drivers/pci/pci.c really depends upon getting this header somehow. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc32: Kill iounit_map_dma_*().David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Unused. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill sbus_bus_type.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No longer used. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Remove generic SBUS probing layer.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The individual SBUS IOMMU arch code now sets the IOMMU information directly into the OF device objects. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Add OF archdata propagation helper.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add a helper function that, given a bus of_device node, propagates all iommu, stc, and host_controller values down to the child nodes. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc32: Kill sbus_is_slave().David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Unused. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill OBP property members of sbus_dev and sbus_busDavid S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Unused. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill sbus_devaddr() and sbus_dev_slot().David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Unused. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill sbus_ioremap() and sbus_iounmap().David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No more users. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Convert remaining sbus_ioremap() and sbus_iounmap() users.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use of_ioremap() and of_iounmap() instead. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Remove dinky old-style SBUS probing facilities.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No drivers or code uses this stuff any more, every driver has been converted over to OF device probing. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Remove SBUS layer resource and irq handling.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | All the drivers use OF device objects now for this information. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Kill SBUS layer IRQ hooks.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | IRQs are obtained by drivers from the of_device struct. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc32: Make mmu_map_dma_area and mmu_unmap_dma_area take a device pointer.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This lets us kill this "map it in every IOMMU" crazy code, and also some of the final references to sbus_root. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc32: Kill mmu_translate_dvma and implementations.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | No longer used. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc64: Convert SBUS floppy probing to use OF device objects.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Move SBUS DMA attribute interfaces out of asm/sbus.hDavid S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is in preparation for the subsequent asm/sbus.h removal. Also, make these routines take a "struct device" or no arguments, as appropriate. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc: Convert all SBUS drivers to dma_*() interfaces.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | And all the SBUS dma interfaces are deleted. A private implementation remains inside of the 32-bit sparc port which exists only for the sake of the implementation of dma_*(). Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc32: Implement more generic dma_*() interfaces.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These dispatch to either PCI or SBUS routines based upon the device bus type. This will allow us to let SBUS drivers call these routines. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
| * | sparc32: Make mmu_{get,release}_*() take a struct device pointer.David S. Miller2008-08-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
