* powerpc: Fix boot wrapper memcmp() called with zero length argumentMike Ditto2008-10-21
| | | | | | | | | I noticed, when trying to use, e.g., node = find_node_by_prop_value(prev, "booleanprop", "", 0)) to search for all nodes with a certain boolean property, that memcmp() returns garbage when comparing zero bytes. It should return zero. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Add memchr() to the bootwrapperDavid Gibson2007-10-12
| | | | | | | | This adds a memchr() implementation to the bootwrapper, which will be needed when libfdt is merged in. Signed-off-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Move bootwrapper's strchr() and strncmp() from .h to string.SDavid Gibson2007-09-13
| | | | | | | | | | Currently the bootwrapper has implementations of strchr() and strncmp(), but they're inlines in flatdevtree_env.h, rather than in string.S with all the rest of the string functions. This moves them to string.S. Signed-off-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* powerpc: Avoid unaligned loads and stores in boot memcpy codePaul Mackerras2006-01-13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The 601 processor will generate an alignment exception for accesses which cross a page boundary. In the boot wrapper code, OF is still handling all exceptions, and it doesn't have an alignment exception handler that emulates the instruction and continues. This changes the memcpy and memmove routines in the boot wrapper to avoid doing unaligned accesses. If the source and destination are misaligned with respect to each other, we just copy one byte at a time. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* powerpc: Move ppc64 boot wrapper code over to arch/powerpcPaul Mackerras2005-11-15
This also extends the code to handle 32-bit ELF vmlinux files as well as 64-bit ones. This is sufficient for booting on new-world 32-bit powermacs (i.e. all recent machines). Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
