* sched: Provide scheduler_ipi() callback in response to smp_send_reschedule()Peter Zijlstra2011-04-14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For future rework of try_to_wake_up() we'd like to push part of that function onto the CPU the task is actually going to run on. In order to do so we need a generic callback from the existing scheduler IPI. This patch introduces such a generic callback: scheduler_ipi() and implements it as a NOP. BenH notes: PowerPC might use this IPI on offline CPUs under rare conditions! * percpu: make percpu symbols in xen uniqueTejun Heo2009-10-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch updates percpu related symbols in xen such that percpu symbols are unique and don't clash with local symbols. This serves two purposes of decreasing the possibility of global percpu symbol collision and allowing dropping per_cpu__ prefix from percpu symbols. * arch/x86/xen/smp.c, arch/x86/xen/time.c, arch/ia64/xen/irq_xen.c: add xen_ prefix to percpu variables * arch/ia64/xen/time.c: add xen_ prefix to percpu variables, drop processed_ prefix and make them static Partly based on Rusty Russell's "alloc_percpu: rename percpu vars which cause name clashes" patch. * [IA64] remove obsolete irq_desc_t typedefThomas Gleixner2009-06-15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The defines and typedefs (hw_interrupt_type, no_irq_type, irq_desc_t) have been kept around for migration reasons. After more than two years it's time to remove them finally. This patch cleans up one of the remaining users. When all such patches hit mainline we can remove the defines and typedefs finally. Impact: cleanup Convert the last remaining users and remove the typedef.
