| * sh: mach-rsk: Update for parse_mtd_partitions() fallout.Paul Mundt2012-01-11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The RSK+ setup code was doing some pretty dubious things with parse_mtd_partitions() in order to populate the physmap-flash map platform data. The physmap-flash driver contains all of the functionality that we require already, so simply drop the special casing and pad out the platform data accordingly. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The cache functions lock out interrupts for long periods; this patch reduces the impact when operating on large address ranges. In such cases it will: - Invalidate the entire cache rather than individual addresses. - Do nothing when flushing the operand cache in write-through mode. - When flushing the operand cache in write-back mdoe, index the search for matching addresses on the cache entires instead of the addresses to flush Note: sh2a__flush_purge_region was only invalidating the operand cache, this adds flush. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Unused indices produce empty entries in the clock array, which then lead to Oopses at boot-time. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Current sh clocks are using pm_runtime frame work instead of old hwblk. So, HWBLK_UNKNOWN, HWBLK_DBG and HWBLK_SUBC are not needed for now. Now mstp32 clocks are registered by sh_clk_mstp32_register(), but the clock which isn't defined by SH_CLK_MSTP32() macro will be crash. because it doesn't have enable_reg. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The renesas_usbhs driver doesn't use the clk functions. So, even if we adds "CLKDEV_DEV_ID("renesas_usbhs.0", ...)" only, we cannot use the USB controller because clk_late_init() will disable the clock by "usb0". | | | | * | | | serial: sh-sci: Handle GPIO function requests.Paul Mundt2011-12-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds initial support for requesting the various GPIO functions necessary for certain ports. This just plugs in dumb request/free logic, but serves as a building block for migrating off of the ->init_pins mess to a wholly gpiolib backed solution (primarily parts with external RTS/CTS pins, but will also allow us to clean up RXD pin testing). We now require ports to manually specify which line supports modem control signals. While at it, tidy up the RTS/CTSIO handling in SCSPTR parts so it's a bit more obvious what's going on (and without clobbering other configurations in the process). While generally harmless, this does lead to bogus reads/writes in both the termios/runtime PM cases that are better off simply never being made in the first place. While we're at it, also get rid of a straggling PORT_SCI check that infers all non-SCI ports contain SCFCR. This doesn't presently have any impact, but as we're now able to test for the existence of registers without defering to the port type we future proof for additional port types. The PFC main data structure gets updated with a pointer to a struct resources array that point out all register windows used by the PFC instance. The register definitions are kept as physical addresses but the PFC code will do transparent conversion into virtual addresses whenever register windows are specified using with struct resource. To introduce as little performance penalty as possible the virtual address of each data register is cached in memory. The virtual address of each configuration register is however calculated during run time. This because the configuration is considered slow path so focus is instead put on keeping memory foot print as small as possible. The PFC register access code is in this patch updated from __raw_readN() / __raw_writeN() into ioreadN() / iowriteN(). This patch is needed to support the PFC block in r8a7779. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Eric and David reported dead machines and traced it to commit a195f004 ("sched: Fix load-balance lock-breaking"), it turns out there's still a scenario where we can end up re-trying forever. Since there is no strict forward progress guarantee in the load-balance iteration we can get stuck re-retrying the same task-set over and over. Creating a forward progress guarantee with the existing structure is somewhat non-trivial, for now simply terminate the retry loop after a few tries.
