The root cause of these "inverted" sysfs removals have now been found, so there is no need for this patch. The warning is false positive as of->mutex is per open-file and the two paths belong to two different files. This warning didn't trigger before regular and bin file supports were merged because only bin file supported mmap and the other side of locking happened only on regular files which used equivalent but separate locking. directory removals will be done recursively. We automatically set them to 0 in the kernel. However, the 64/32 bit compat-handler didn't do that in the UHID_CREATE fallback. The third EP forwards to the user space some vendor specific information about the keyboard state, but are useless currently for the kernel. Opening them and closing them makes the keyboard responsive again. Adding the quirk HID_QUIRK_HIDINPUT_FORCE forces hid-input to allocate the inputs, and everything should be ok. Revert the commit to avoid hid-sony regression. David is working on a bluez patch to force proper ID on the wiimote. The callback function for sony uses the hid_output_raw_report (overwritten by sixaxis_usb_output_raw_report) function to handle differences in the control message format. It is not safe for an atomic context because it may sleep later in usb_start_wait_urb. This "scheduling while atomic" can cause the system to lock up. A workaround is to make the force feedback state update using work_queues and use the play_effect function only to enqueue the work item. This exposed the fact that Tegra's cpufreq driver returns an error when it is ignoring requests due to the system being suspended. Modify Tegra's .target() function not to return an error in this case; this prevents the error prints. The argument is that since the suspend hook can't and doesn't inform the cpufreq core when its requests will be ignored, there's no way for the cpufreq core to squelch them, so it's not an error for the requests to keep coming. This change make the Tegra driver consistent with how the Exynos handles the same situation. Note that s5pv210-cpufreq.c probably suffers from this same issue though. This fix changes the loop to terminate on an end-of-buffer condition. Problem can be seen by callers to AcpiSetCurrentResources with an invalid or corrupted resource descriptor; or a resource descriptor without an END_TAG descriptor. The acpi_tables_sysfs_init() function should rely on the acpi_status return value from acpi_get_table_by_index() to decide whether or not to stop the iteration (the walk should only be terminated when that value is AE_BAD_PARAMETER). This way, when running in an ACPI Harware Reduced environment (where the FACS table is silently ignored by the kernel) or if some ACPI tables are not correctly memory mapped or have bad checksums, it will still walk through the remaining tables that may be correct. Nevertheless, the ACPI hotplug framework also installs the common notify handler, acpi_hotplug_notify_cb(), for PCI root bridges. This causes acpi_hotplug_notify_cb() to call _OST method with unsupported error as hotplug.enabled is not set. To address this issue, introduce hotplug.ignore flag, which indicates that the scan handler installs its own notify handler by itself. The ACPI hotplug framework does not install the common notify handler when this flag is set. Firstly, this patch doesn't handle the 64bit signals case, which could also hit this issue (but has never been reported). Secondly, the original patch isn't clear what MSR VSX should be set to. The new approach below always clears the MSR VSX bit (to indicate no VSX is in the context) and sets it only in the specific case where VSX is available (ie. when VSX has been used and the signal context passed has space to provide the state). This reverts the original patch and replaces it with the improved solution. It also adds a 64 bit version. So far dump filtering on ppc64 never had to deal with vmemmap addresses seperately as vmemmap regions where mapped in zone normal. But with the inclusion of CONFIG_SPARSEMEM_VMEMMAP config option in kernel, this vmemmap address translation support becomes necessary for dump filtering. For vmemmap adress translation, few kernel symbols are needed by dump filtering tool. This patch adds those symbols to vmcoreinfo, which a dump filtering tool can use for filtering the kernel dump. Tested this changes successfully with makedumpfile tool that supports vmemmap to physical address translation outside zone normal. CONFIG_CPU_LITTLE_ENDIAN=y gets set but his toolchain is not new enough to support little endian. We really want to default to a big endian build; Ben suggested using a choice which defaults to CPU_BIG_ENDIAN. Also, the above completess correct as the error is not fatal to the build. This was found by Dan using static analysis as described here: https://lists.ozlabs.org/pipermail/linuxppc-dev/2013-November/113161.html We currently get away with this because the callers that currently pass NULL for vma seem to be 32-bit-only (e.g. highmem, and CONFIG_DEBUG_PGALLOC in pgtable_32.c) Hugetlb is currently 64-bit only, so we never saw a NULL vma here. But Altivec option not allowed with e500mc64, then some compiling errors occur like this: CC arch/powerpc/lib/xor_vmx.o arch/powerpc/lib/xor_vmx.c:1:0: error: AltiVec not supported in this target make[1]: * [arch/powerpc/lib/xor_vmx.o] Error 1 make: * [arch/powerpc/lib] Error 2 So we should restrict e500mc64 in altivec scenario. The internal trace event code does a strlen() and strcpy() on the source of field. If it is NULL it causes the system to oops.
