* [SCSI] aic7xxx: introduce "dont_generate_debug_code" keyword in aicasm parserDenys Vlasenko2008-10-23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | aic7xxx still contains ~30kb of dead code if pretty printing of registers is requested. These patches deal with it. * [SCSI] scsi_dh: Initialize path state to be passive when path is not ownedChandra Seetharaman2008-10-23
| | | | | | | | | | | Set the path state to be passive when we learn that the controller does not own the path to the LUN. The problem is essentially caused by us eating UNIT_ATTENTION conditions in scsi_test_unit_ready(). Fix by updating the ->changed flag when this happens if the media is removable. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add the at76_usb wireless driver to the staging tree while the other kernel driver (out of tree) gets rewritten to use the internal wireless stack. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is needed as CONFIG_STAGING is set to y, yet there is no code in drivers/staging/ to build, so the build-in.o doesn't get created properly. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the wlan-ng prism2 USB driver to the drivers/staging tree. The code was originally written by the linux-wlan-ng team, patched by some Novell engineers to properly work on newer kernels, and then hacked into place in order to get it to build properly in a single subdirectory within the kernel tree by me. It supports a wide range of older USB prism2 devices, and contains a 80211 stack to support this single driver. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We need to add a flag for all code that is in the drivers/staging/ directory to prevent all other kernel developers from worrying about issues here, and to notify users that the drivers might not be as good as they are normally used to. Based on code from Andreas Gruenbacher and Jeff Mahoney to provide a TAINT flag for the support level of a kernel module in the Novell enterprise kernel release. This is the code that actually modifies the modules, adding the flag to any files in the drivers/staging directory. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The W83781D and W83782D can be accessed either on the I2C bus or the ISA bus. We must not access the same chip through both interfaces. So far we were relying on the user passing the correct ignore parameter to skip the registration of the I2C interface as suggested by sensors-detect, but this is fragile: the user may load the w83781d driver without running sensors-detect, and the i2c bus numbers are not stable across reboots and hardware changes. So, better detect alias chips in the driver directly, and skip any I2C chip which is obviously an alias of the ISA chip. This is done by comparing the value of 26 selected registers. | * | hwmon: (it87) Fix thermal sensor type valuesJean Delvare2008-10-17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The it87 driver doesn't follow the standard sensor type values as documented in Documentation/hwmon/sysfs-interface. It uses value 2 for thermistors instead of value 4. This causes "sensors" to tell the user that the chip is setup for a transistor while it is actually setup for a thermistor. Using value 4 for thermistors solves the problem. For compatibility reasons, we still accept value 2 but emit a warning message so that users update their configuration files.
