| * | | [PATCH] Add Wake on LAN support to sis900 (2)Daniele Venzano2005-10-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Sorry, but that day I had smoked somthing too heavy for me, the patch didn't apply. Here's a new one. The patch availble below adds support for Wake on LAN to the sis900 driver. Some register addresses were added to sis900.h and two new functions were implemented in sis900.c. WoL status is controlled by ethtool. Patch is against 2.6.13. Comments are welcome, but also consider for inclusion in the -mm series. | * | | | [netdrvr 8139too] fast poll for thread, if an unlikely race occursJeff Garzik2005-11-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The rtl8139 thread is triggered only on rare 8139 hardware, the race itself is unlikely, and the impact of racing is low. We don't care enough to create a more-complex race-free solution. Rather, if the trylock fails, we now simply poll twice a second until we do get the lock.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Gone are the days when 8139too was a shining example of how to use kernel threads. Delayed workqueues are easier, and map precisely to our task: running code from a kernel thread, after a periodic sleep.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On ia64, it is possible to get NaT Consumption Fault and a kernel panic when initializing sctp sideeffect commands arguments. The union sctp_arg_t contains different sized elements and when loading a smaller sized element (32 or 16 bits), it is possible for a speculative load to fail and result in a NaT bit set which causes a kernel crash. The easy way to get around it is to load the largerst member of the union. | * | | | | | [SCTP]: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in sctp_v4_get_saddrVladislav Yasevich2005-11-11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It is possible to get to sctp_v4_get_saddr() without a valid association. This happens when processing OOTB packets and the cached route entry is no longer valid. However, when responding to OOTB packets we already properly set the source address based on the information in the OOTB packet. So, if we we get to sctp_v4_get_saddr() without an association we can simply return. Since SN firmware does not pass enough ACPI information to identify VGA cards and the associated legacy IO/MEM addresses, we rely on the EFI PCDP table. Since the linux pcdp driver is optional (and overridden if console= directives are used) SN duplicates a portion of the pcdp scan code to identify if there is a usable console VGA adapter. Additionally, dup necessary pcdp related structs to avoid dragging drivers/pcdp.h into a more public location. Signed-off-by: Mark Maule <maule@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
