Since:
1) FW_LOADER is defined as:
config FW_LOADER
tristate "Userspace firmware loading support"
depends on HOTPLUG
2) several V4L/DVB driver just selects it;
3) select is not smart enough to auto-select HOTPLUG, if select FW_LOADER.
So, All drivers that select FW_LOADER should also depend on HOTPLUG.
An easier solution (for the end-user perspective) would be to "select HOTPLUG".
However, live is not simple. This would cause recursive dependency issues like
this one:

PCI-dependent videobuf_foo methods were renamed as videobuf_pci_foo. Also, videobuf_dmabuf is now part of videobuf-dma-sg private struct. So, to access it, a subroutine call is needed. This patch renames all occurences of those function calls to be consistent with the video-buf split. There are several boards on V4L that can work with several different helper modules for audio/video encoding/decoding and similar stuff. This patch adds the capability of choicing between autoselecting the pertinent helper modules for each driver, or to manually selecting them.
