This allows sim test cases to be executed unmodified under Linux and thus simplify debugging greatly. Since these don't actually exist in the hardware, we have to have the
exception handler take care of emulating these.  This allows sim test
cases to be executed unmodified under Linux and thus simplify debugging
greatly.
