* mlx4_en: Not using Shared Receive QueuesYevgeny Petrilin2009-08-06
| | | | | | | | | We use 1:1 mapping between QPs and SRQs on receive side, so additional indirection level not required. Allocated the receive buffers for the RSS QPs. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mlx4_en: Using real number of rings as RSS map sizeYevgeny Petrilin2009-08-06
| | | | | | | | | There is no point in using more QPs then actual number of receive rings. If the RSS function for two streams gives the same result modulo number of rings, they will arrive to the same RX ring anyway. * mlx4_en: Adaptive moderation policy changeYevgeny Petrilin2009-08-06
| | | | | | | | | | If the net device is identified as "sender" (number of sent packets is higher then the number of received packets and the incoming packets are small), set the moderation time to its low limit. We do it because the incoming packets are acks, and we don't want to delay them Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mlx4_en: Remove redundant refill code on RXYevgeny Petrilin2009-06-21
| | | | | | | | | Our RX rings are always full, there is no need to check whether we need to fill them or not. If we fail to allocate a new socket buffer, the incoming packet is dropped an the ring remains full. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mlx4_en: Cancel port_up check in transmit functionYevgeny Petrilin2009-06-21
| | | | | | | | | When closing the port, we stop all transmit queues under the transmit lock. It ensures that we will not attempt to transmit new packets after the physical port was closed. * | mlx4_en: multiqueue supportYevgeny Petrilin2009-06-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | By default the driver opens 8 TX queues (defined by MLX4_EN_NUM_TX_RINGS). If the driver is configured to support Per Priority Flow Control, we open 8 additional TX rings. dev->real_num_tx_queues is always set to be MLX4_EN_NUM_TX_RINGS. The mlx4_en_select_queue() function uses standard hashing (skb_tx_hash) in case that PPFC is not supported or the skb contain a vlan tag, otherwise the queue is selected according to vlan priority. * | mlx4_en: Coalescing target is equal for all mtu'sYevgeny Petrilin2009-06-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The interrupt moderation should not depend on number of incoming bytes, but on number of incoming packets. The previous scheme caused very high interrupts rate for small messages when big MTU was configured. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. * | mlx4_en: Giving interface name in debug messagesYevgeny Petrilin2009-06-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For each debug message, the message will show interface name in case that the net device was registered, and PCI bus ID with port number if we were not registered yet. Messages that are not port/netdev specific stayed in the old format Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* | mlx4_en: Fix partial rings featureYevgeny Petrilin2009-05-25
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In case of allocation failure, the actual ring size is rounded down to nearest power of 2. The remaining descriptors are freed. The CQ and SRQ are allocated with the actual size and the mask is updated. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

| | | | | | | | In case of mlx4_en_activate_cq() failure, the cleanup code would go to rx_err and try to disable unactivated rings. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mlx4_en: use NETIF_F_IP_CSUM | NETIF_F_IPV6_CSUM for tx csum at initializationYevgeny Petrilin2009-04-21
| | | | | | | | | The former usage was to set the NETIF_F_HW_CSUM flag which is not used in get_tx_csum. It caused Ethtool to show tx checksum as "on" even though it was turned off in previous operation. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mlx4_en: Fix a race at restart taskYevgeny Petrilin2009-04-21
| | | | | | | | The query whether the port is up or not should be done at the execution of the restart task and not when it is queued. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* workqueue: add to_delayed_work() helper functionJean Delvare2009-04-02
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It is a fairly common operation to have a pointer to a work and to need a pointer to the delayed work it is contained in. In particular, all delayed works which want to rearm themselves will have to do that. So it would seem fair to offer a helper function for this operation. * mlx4_en: Add driver for Mellanox ConnectX 10GbE NICYevgeny Petrilin2008-10-22
The Mellanox ConnectX can operate as an InfiniBand adapter, as an Ethernet NIC, or as a Fibre Channel (FC) HBA. The kernel has a low-level driver, mlx4_core, which handles multiplexing access to the device, and there is also already an InfiniBad driver, mlx4_ib. This patch adds a new driver, mlx4_en, which implements a standard Ethernet NIC driver.
