* enic: bug fix: protect fw call i/f with spinlockScott Feldman2009-09-03
| | | | | | | | Some driver -> nic firmware calls weren't guarded with a spinlock, exposing the call i/f to a race between two threads Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* enic: use netdev_alloc_skbScott Feldman2009-09-03

* enic: bug fix: split TSO fragments larger than 16K into multiple descsScott Feldman2009-09-03
| | | | | | | | enic WQ desc supports a maximum 16K buf size, so split any send fragments larger than 16K into several descs. Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* enic: workaround A0 erratumScott Feldman2009-09-03
| | | | | | | | | | | | A0 revision ASIC has an erratum on the RQ desc cache on chip where the cache can become corrupted causing pkt buf writes to wrong locations. The s/w workaround is to post a dummy RQ desc in the ring every 32 descs, causing a flush of the cache. A0 parts are not production, but there are enough of these parts in the wild in test setups to warrant including workaround. A1 revision ASIC parts fix erratum. Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* enic: add support for multiple BARsScott Feldman2009-09-03

* net: dont update dev->trans_start in 10GB driversEric Dumazet2009-05-29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Followup of commits 9d21493b4beb8f918ba248032fefa393074a5e2b and 08baf561083bc27a953aa087dd8a664bb2b88e8e (net: tx scalability works : trans_start) (net: txq_trans_update() helper) Now that core network takes care of trans_start updates, dont do it in drivers themselves, if possible. Multi queue drivers can avoid one cache miss (on dev->trans_start) in their start_xmit() handler. Exceptions are NETIF_F_LLTX drivers (vxge & tehuti) Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* enic: record all bad FCS errs as frame errorsScott Feldman2009-02-10
| | | | | | | | | Report all bad FCS errs as frames errs. This includes frames with bad FCS on wire detected by MAC and frames which may be truncated due to ingress FIFO overruns. No longer print a driver msg on bad FCS err. Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* enic: bug fix: return notify intr creditsScott Feldman2009-02-10
| | | | | | | | | | Return notify intr credits after notify intr from firmware. This is especially important for legacy PCI intr mode, where not returning credits would cause PBA to remain asserted which would get us right back into the ISR. Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: replace uses of __constant_{endian}Harvey Harrison2009-02-01

* net: Remove redundant NAPI functionsBen Hutchings2009-01-21
| | | | | | | | | | | Following the removal of the unused struct net_device * parameter from the NAPI functions named *netif_rx_* in commit 908a7a1, they are exactly equivalent to the corresponding *napi_* functions and are therefore redundant. Signed-off-by: Ben Hutchings <bhutchings@solarflare.com> Acked-by: Neil Horman <nhorman@tuxdriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: add missing set_mac_address hookStephen Hemminger2009-01-11

* net: Remove unused netdev arg from some NAPI interfaces.Neil Horman2008-12-22
| | | | | | | | | | When the napi api was changed to separate its 1:1 binding to the net_device struct, the netif_rx_[prep|schedule|complete] api failed to remove the now vestigual net_device structure parameter. This patch cleans up that api by properly removing it.. Signed-off-by: Neil Horman <nhorman@tuxdriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* enic: enable ethtool LRO supportScott Feldman2008-11-22
| | | | | | | | | Enable ethtool support for get/set_flags so LRO can be turned on/off by fwding drivers such as the bridge driver. LRO is not compatible with fwding drivers. Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netdev: add more functions to netdevice opsStephen Hemminger2008-11-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch moves neigh_setup and hard_start_xmit into the network device ops structure. For bisection, fix all the previously converted drivers as well. Bonding driver took the biggest hit on this. Added a prefetch of the hard_start_xmit in the fast path to try and reduce any impact this would have. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* enic: convert to net_device_opsStephen Hemminger2008-11-20
| | | | | | | Convert this driver to network device ops. Compile tested only. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* drivers/net: Kill now superfluous ->last_rx stores.David S. Miller2008-11-04
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The generic packet receive code takes care of setting netdev->last_rx when necessary, for the sake of the bonding ARP monitor. Drivers need not do it any more. Some cases had to be skipped over because the drivers were making use of the ->last_rx value themselves. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: convert more to %pMJohannes Berg2008-10-27
| | | | | | | | | A number of places still use %02x:...:%02x because it's in debug statements or for no real reason. Make a few of them use %pM. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* enic: bug fix: don't set netdev->name too earlyScott Feldman2008-09-24
| | | | | | | | | | | Bug fix: don't set netdev->name early before netdev registration. Setting netdev->name early with dev_alloc_name() would occasionally cause netdev registration to fail returning error that device was already registered. Since we're using netdev->name to name MSI-X vectors, we now need to move the request_irq after netdev registartion, so move it to ->open. * enic: fixes for review items from Ben HutchingsScott Feldman2008-09-24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Fixes for review items from Ben Hutchings: - use netdev->net_stats rather than private net_stats - use ethtool op .get_sset_count rather than .get_stats_count - err out if setting Tx/Rx csum or TSO using ethtool and setting is not enabled for device. - pass in jiffies + constant to round_jiffies - return err if new MTU is out-of-bounds Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
* enic: Don't indicate IPv6 pkts using soft-LROScott Feldman2008-09-24
| | | | | | | | | LRO is only applied to IPv4 pkts, so don't use the LRO indication functions for anything other IPv4 pkts. Every non-IPv4 pkt is indicated using non- LRO functions. Signed-off-by: Scott Feldman <scofeldm@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>
